Daytona Track Content Restructure

Beginning with the 2022 Season 4 build, four track layouts will be removed from the [Legacy] Daytona International Speedway – 2008 package and moved into the paid Daytona International Speedway package. These 2008 layouts include Oval, Road Course, Moto, and Short. As a result the Daytona International Speedway package will combine for a total of nine configs (Oval, Road Course, NASCAR Road, Moto, Short, Oval – 2008, Road Course – 2008, Moto – 2008, Short – 2008).

The Rallycross configs that used to be part of the [Legacy] Daytona International Speedway – 2008 package (Rallycross Short and Rallycross Long) will not be affected by this change and will remain as included free content with an iRacing membership. This package will be renamed to Daytona Rallycross.

iRacing will also be adding multiple pieces of all-new content to its list of included cars and tracks for members in coming builds.

USF2000- Indy Pro 2000 Series Adjustments

With the launch of Season 1, 2023, we will be making some format adjustments to these 2 series. The goal for these format updates is to provide clarity to the North American open wheel ladder while also promoting an increase in participation.

USF2000 will also be switching to the normal every other hour schedule format with the Indy Pro 2000 running opposite hours. This will make it much easier to back to back these races.

The most prominent change will be the alignment of both series schedules moving forward. Both series will run the same tracks on the same weeks mirroring the real world “Support Series” format. We are also adjusting the scheduling guidelines to require 2 ovals and 10 road courses. Our team will be working with the community managers of both series in the coming weeks to form a plan on how the community will vote for schedules. 

Other minor changes will be that both series will be lap based moving forward. We will still target 15 minute races for the USF2000 series while targeting 25 minute races for the Indy Pro 2000 series. USF2000 will continue to use fixed setups while the Indy Pro 2000 will remain an open setup series. 

We will also be announcing an updated naming convention for the series to make it more apparent that they are supporting one another.

What can iRacing do to invigorate the Porsche Mission R series?

I bought it from day one, it’s certainly different and the quali mode is spectacular.

But the series is practically dead, half the sessions don’t even make it to a legitimate field. Has this happened before with iRacing/new car content?

iRacing Defeats Meritless Patent Lawsuit

iRacing.com is pleased to announce that on September 20th, 2022, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted iRacing.com’s motion to dismiss the patent lawsuit filed against it.

“We are very excited with this result,” said iRacing President Anthony Gardner. “It is a big win for us, and by extension the whole industry, which has been working hard to create dynamic track racing surfaces for the racing game community for years and years. The opinion sends a clear message to patent trolls.”

1. N Wilkesboro – Further thoughts on what he was thinking when they scanned the track. Racing in real life was not even a thought process…

iRacing SCCA Runoffs

The SCCA National Championship Runoffs is the end-of-year championship race meeting for Sports Car Club of America Club Racing competitors. Divisional champions and other top drivers from the SCCA’s 116 regions are invited to participate at the Runoffs. National championships are awarded to the winners of each class. The iRacing version will use Super Sessions. The top 40 drivers in the points for the week in each of the corresponding series, will be eligible to race in the Super Session. However if someone doesn’t show up, the next highest person in points is promoted.

Each of these races will be broadcast on RaceSpot for 8 hours of wall-to-wall racing across multiple disciplines.

The Crandon Championship is an iRacing Special Event held at Crandon International Raceway using the Pro 4 Off-Road Racing Trucks.

Date: October 19th – October 23rd

October 19th through the 21st 2 timeslots at 01:00 GMT and 15:00 GMT, and 1:00 GMT on October 22nd.

October 22nd and 23rd Super Session taking the top 20 in overall points from the race week.

Corsair Communication About PSU’s

iRacers Lounge Podcast’s own, Steve Thompson reached out to Corsair to learn more about Corsair’s compatibility with the new NVIDIA 40 Series cards.

Friday Open: Tally

• Rochette P20 had a dipshit stop before pitroad when i was pitting giving me a passing under yellow and just couldn’t get my lap back
• Greg – wrecked out 
• Donnie – P8, Q4
• Mike – dnf- had a great race actually led. The most laps was leading on the outside with three to go had a guy behind me. That said he was going to stay with me via private message on the back stretch going into three he decided to go low and leave me out, and when he did he got hooked by the guy on the bottom and a wrecked us all. 

• Sunday Open
  • Rochette –P4 hung out with a couple of guys that we just stayed 1-3 whole race tried to make a move on last lap lost a spot
  • Hall – p8,  to few cars could make the low line fast, so every restart was a race to the wall
  • Steve -p21 Started 31st ran in the back most of the race got up to 3rd around lap 86 and tried to avoid a wreck and got doored by my poor decision to split 2 cars and ended up with a black flag by going thru the grass on the front stretch and going thru the pits.  Ended parking it be a lap down and not able to make up any spots so I didnt get any more incident points on the final 4 laps.

• Sunday fixed 
  • Mike -p20 – Ran top 5 and led some laps, early on we had a great 7 car break away 4 second lead, then after gf stops, 11 second breakaway…eventually cautions started happening and i got involved but little damage – kept working my way up but got completely destroyed on the white and could not finish.
  • Tyler p30
  • Steve p12 – Started 27th went 2 laps down after entering closed pit.  Mike said keep going, got the 2 laps back.  Led the last two laps with a crash with one to go and the caution came out.  Ended up getting wrecked on the white flag lap in a 4 huge crash and my car was so damaged I couldnt make it across the start finish line.

Wednesday Open:  Charlotte

• Hall – p 17, Top split, only got my spots on survival
• Ellis – started P 14. Got to p eight by the end of lap one.  eventually I got to p five by lap 13. I barely touch the wall and it killed the car. He would not roll at all head to toe to pit lane.  Eight minutes Required damage came back out with eight laps down about 20th work my way back up to 16th.
• Thurs Open  
  • Ellis – p1 – qualified p4- got to third pretty quick and battled with second all the way to the pitstop. I got by him right before the stop.  meanwhile the leader, who had gapped us, crashed out and wrecked. After pitstops I inherited the lead with a 14 second gap. Was able to maintain the gap until the end of the race. So that’s three NASCAR wins this year Bristol, dirt, Atlanta, and Charlotte Roval…. My 86 career win

Ellis – F2000 Lanier. Was running P8 moving forward. When I got tagged from the inside and spun, with no cautions, I fell back to 12Th. Then a few laps later somebody spot in front of me and came back across the track and collected me and broke off both front corners of the car DNF.

Skip barber at Mount panorama. Bathurst.  Rect in qualify not enough time to even try again. Started P6 eventually got to P two and was within 2 1/2 seconds of the leader when I caught a lap car, and he basically stopped right in front of me, and I drove right through him. Dnf.

Ault dips out of line and gets freight trained we now have a line of 6 at the white still on top – bowden gets pushed by kirwin to the bottom to the lead the top dientigrates – Kirwin takes a look  they hit he goes below the line and comes back up door slam door slam door slam bowden up the track, bowden goes up and clips bobby who is in third but bobby zalenski squeezes by for the win!!!

Seay Back on Top After Dramatic iRacing World of Outlaws Late Model Finish at Volusia

Evan Seay’s march towards the iRacing World of Outlaws ButtKicker Late Model Series title took another step forward on Monday night, as he took his fifth win of the season in Monday night’s penultimate round from Volusia Speedway Park. After the victory, Seay now boasts an 83-point lead on teammate Blake Matjoulis with a single race remaining, next week’s finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

iRacing SCCA Runoffs

The SCCA National Championship Runoffs is the end-of-year championship race meeting for Sports Car Club of America Club Racing competitors. Divisional champions and other top drivers from the SCCA’s 116 regions are invited to participate at the Runoffs. National championships are awarded to the winners of each class. The iRacing version will use Super Sessions. The top 40 drivers in the points for the week in each of the corresponding series, will be eligible to race in the Super Session. However if someone doesn’t show up, the next highest person in points is promoted.

Each of these races will be broadcast on RaceSpot for 8 hours of wall-to-wall racing across multiple disciplines.

Date: October 17-22nd (Super Session events held on October 22nd and 23rd)

  • Mike -p6 – I don’t know how to describe that early first run tonight in Fixed, after 10 or so labs every single person was hospital loose out of two. I mean loose loose loose, super loose hang on for your life.  Know I just mean literally everyone in the room we all pitted for tires the second run it was like nothing ever happened. We all stuck like glue third run. It started getting loose again after 15 but that first run was weird.  I got some short runs at the end. We had enough tires and I was able to make a run forward.

Wednesday Open:  Tally

• Hall – p wreck on gwc, no where to go
• Ellis – Pole! 12 teammates in TeamSpeak to run the event. Lost force feedback around Lap twenty . I could not get it back on finally a caution around lap 30. I had to pit and turn the wheel off and turn it back on and went to dead last. I eventually got to the front all the way from the back and led a bunch of laps before caution with 24 to go, now we are good on fuel running P3 for the restart. With some more laps in with a restart it was eight to go the wreck in front of me, and I get clipped and destroyed.  dnf 
• Kyle P – P2 Started up in P7 and just kept it clean. Got to the front at the halfway mark. And had Tom Dreiling pushing me until we had a green flag pit. Came out of the pits with 7 to go and Tom was to nice and let me get back ahead of him to hold the lead. Came to 1 to go and P3 and P4 decided to make a run on the top side and I went to block but started to leave Tom Behind so I dropped back down to pick up tom and on the front we decided to go high and try for the win but just ran out of track Came home with a P2 and Tom with a P3. I led the most laps with 43 and set the fastest lap at a 48.974 finishing 0.0092 behind the lead and Tom and P4 finished tied 0.156 behind the leader. Thank you again to Tom for pushing me around Dega. iRacing farming has began again this week. 2500 IR is the goal by sunday. 
• Tony R – P7 got clipped and damaged early in the race sp just putted along. Ended up getting fuel for last caution before the gwcs kicked in. Plenty of guys ran out of fuel at the white so just zoomed by – `
• Steve – Did not qualify, started 27th and had two team mates in the split.  Bobby Jonas and Brian Maccubin.  This was my first race with Tifosi and first race ever in NIS. Rode around in the back thru a few cautions.  On the 3rd to last caution on lap 58 I went in and got just fuel with Brian and Bobby with around 40 to go.  We figured we could save fuel and finish to the end.  Another caution came out on lap 85 and all 3 of us stayed out gaining great track position with Brian running 1st, myself 2nd and Bobby was 5th.  I was going to push Brian to the win when the yellow came out on lap 94 about a ¼ mile from the start finish line.  Brian restarted 1st and I started on the outside in 2nd with Bobby starting I think 5th.  Mike Ellis was spotting for us and on the last lap Brian was behind me with a car in front of me and a car to the outside.  Mike told me to shoot the middle, which I did and Bobby punted me over the line for the Win!  Thanks to Mike, Bobby and Brian for all the help.  I was definitely outside my comfort zone as I have run an official race in years.  Thanks for allowing me on Team Tifosi!
• Thurs Open  
  • Ellis – p13- Ran top 10 pretty much all race led a bunch of laps. About 15 to go. They wreck in front of me while I was run. An eighth and I got collected was seven minutes damage. Surprisingly the car was still fairly fast and I brought it home.
  • Rochette -P issed off got outside pole. Just did my thing till got through a wreck and a asshat just doors me for no reason (sorry mike if i hurt your virgin ears with my very loud hot mic obscenities) Got Damage fixed and still had good speed while 8 to go and was just taken out by some **************************** ending my race

• Ellis – F 2000 at Oulton park – qualified P8 out of 16. Got wrecked out in lab one. I actually went into the grass to avoid an incident end up in the back came around towards the end of the lap and the guy was fun and stopped. I went to go around him and as soon as I did he back in to me.
• Q p seven and I finished P7. I finally got a finish even though I sped off on my own it was that last I did work my way up through attrition
•  Q p5. Got myself up the second on the first Lap. By Lap five I had fallen to fourth.  That I spun all by myself off the last corner, and killed the car.  dnf.

  • Ellis – pole! – I tied for the most laps lead at 27. pitting other green worked out fine  was p3 after that, but then late cautions set up a final restart and I got destroyed come into the checkered P 16

  • Rochette P2 had fun made it 3 wide on the white and wiggled just a bit causing a wreck but no lifting and plowed my way through

• Kyle P4 ran a sloppy first half of the race and finally got it together and got back to the front and led 8 laps but just couldn’t hold the lead on the last lap and walked home a p4

  • Brian – P7 Started in the back (P23) in case I had any technical issues.  Turned out to be ok, so I started pushing a bit. Had some really great racing along the way and managed to make my way up to top ten.  A caution with about 25 to go brought the field back together.  Had to push a little too hard to catch up to p5, but ran out of tires and fell off to p7.  All around great race.

Fanatec Podium Button Module Rally First Look

Friday Open: Bristol

• • Ellis –   p9 – Got caught up in a few different incidents had 4 minutes damage  – at one point was doing repairs the car turned off and would not turn back on – had to get out of car and back in, then didnt beat pace car off and had a penalty to pit under green 20 second hold – now 3 laps down just soldiered on, eventually with attrition got to 9th…

• Rochette- PWrecked Out got a little greedy and doored and walled myself while trying to take a lead. Just parked it with 15 minutes required

• Stephen- Wrecked Out
• Hall – p21, wrecked out on purpose by a lap car, just because i and another were fighting for lucky dog.  Also suspect the 50 seconds of optional i got avoid an early wreck hurt the long run.  I blew out a tire, and that doesn’t usually happen.

• Rochette -P4 man had another rocket ship on long runs. Did a green flag stop with 60 to go in 3rd and ended up getting screwed once again as caution came out while i was still 3 laps down. Did end up finishing a lap down 

Hall – wrecked,   net code

• Sunday fixed 

• Mike -pdnf got involved in the second caution on lab 13 plowed into some guys that were running along the wall. Stop God jostled around pretty good decided not even pit to look for damage and keep the track position p14th.  63. I finally did for tires. Only 14 seconds damage restarting p15. 22 lap run to the next caution got up to P7. Write about a 100 laps down I have fresh tires they don’t started coming up through there and net coded the guy on the outside.  We were about a foot apart. I showed the video to the team and Greg said.@Mike Ellis you drifted up enough for net code to happen

Wednesday Open:  Texas

• Hall – p wrecked on my own.  Had decent mid pack speed but, Bad adjustment made car to loose to manage.

• Ellis – P 16- pretty much ran P 22 the whole race there were no cautions on the second green flag stop immediately after I finish taking tires. The yellow flag came out I was running 17th at the time that put me back to 25th movie going to the end of the race I’m up to 17th and we get a late caution with a green white checker I restart 16th and end up 16th. 

• Kyle P – wrecked

• Tom D – wrecked oStephen – wrecked out

• Thurs Open  

Ellis – p-19. Ran around 10th for the good part of the race at the beginning but then got door and buy some lab cars mixing it up with the leaders and got spun down in the pit Road so I had an extra penalty was two laps down  eventually got a wave around, but just brought it home after that.

• Ellis – F 2000 at Outland park. Card number 11 out of 11, top split. Q p3. Was running P5 after the start about lap 5 and P4 went off the grass. I went to go around in the next corner. I was just a hair slow and he ran over the back of me, dumping me into the inside wall taking off the whole front clip.

Spiker – P6, Q7 – Great long run speed.  70 Lap Average was 3rd best.

Fri open: Darlington

Ellis –   p3! – Started mid pack got to about 5th and ran back half of the top 5 for most of the night. At one point we split tire strategy and I ended up leading some laps. Some short runs at the end played in my favor, I will take the podium!

Rochette- P11 Sounded like a sqwauker all night – we couldnt hear him in teamspeak (started on pole led a couple laps went to pit to try to figure out audio. Came from the back to front again pitted mustve got a bf for something i had to go to the back again made my way up front. Was definitely top 3 car again. Pitted for 2 tires on that gwc. 2nd place  hit the wall i got in the back made the save than hell broke loose and see how that ended up

• Spiker – P11, Q24

• Sunday Open
  • Rochette-P33rd 2nd straight pole for the lady in black but that wench had other plans. First steam VR Decided it wanted to quit on me 3 laps in of my second and half lead out of T2 and i made it safe to the inside wall without killing anyone. Than got iracing back up was 4 laps down. Think i passed more cars than i ever had to get within a lap down and some back marker just doors me out of 4 and kills it. Ive had tons of fun with Darlington this week but have had the crappiest luck
  • Hall – p wrecked unavoidable on lap 3.  

• Sunday fixed 
  • Mike –p wrecked out – got squeezed hard into the wall at one point early, 3 and half minutes dmg – car was still fast though – as i did repairs each caution i would drive back up through the field – like 25th to 10th or 21st to 8th. At some point I gave up on fixing damage and kept track position and got to the lead for at least one lap… I was running fifth near the end and someone ahead spun way down low and came right back up into the track and I plowed in hard… 16 minutes damage. I’ll tell you what that race with Tom tonight was a lot of fun. I drove through the field multiple times. We run third and fourth and I’m trying my hardest to get to second and I can’t do it and I finally say OK tell him you take a swipe at it and he drives right up to the first takes the lead. If there was no caution he had them covered . I don’t know in a fixed race like that in NiS… everyone in the same set. To be a good notch faster than everyone else it’s felt really good
  • Tom – P-.wrecked out – w about 10 to go drove up from 4th to the lead – but the caution came, took tires restarted 7th got to 4th but clipped a guy and spun out and wrecked hard… Needed a long run at the end to win it.

Wed Fixed 

• Wed Open:
  • Hall –p 11   mid pack speed.  No incidents.  
  • Ellis – p17 – ran about 20th to 25th most of the event – later got on alternate tire strategy and led some laps… But no late cautions put me dead last on lead lap.
  • Kyle P – P7 Started 12th and started to strong and burnt up my tires. Found the top ;ine was harder on the tires and made the car free on exit. Adjusted my line to the bottom and found more consistency and speed. After falling to the high 20’s I made my way back through the field. Got as high as 5th but just couldn’t hold on to it. Last caution came with 10 go. Restarted with 6 laps in p9 and just battled my way to a p7. Darlington and Kansas have been great for farming iRating for me.
  • Tony R – P something something made it to lap 20 when decided to park it as my quality bar was hanging out in the 40s and was blicking. Been awhile since my internet took a big steaming pile.

  • Ellis – p 6 – different set today but it was worse then last night – basically ran between 20th to 25th all race – some late cautions and some luck got me to the top ten for the final restart, p6 I will take it and walk away…

• Ellis – F 2000 at Lime rock- qualified P7 out of 13. Went off track by myself three different times ended up P9
• PDS Euro Sprint Series
  • Hall –  P1 at Daytona
    • Hard Fought with an actually full field.  Set the pole but had a competitor who was set up to run fast on the banking.  Stayed in his tow for the first half of the race, would run him down in the infield and loose a little ground on the bus stop.  But after I ran him down and passed him once in the infield he short pitted.  After Cycle I had a 3 second lead and pulled away.
    • 2nd and 3rd WIN at Daytona
      • Something about this car and track just lets me out run guys with higher iRatings.

Nascar B-Open Kansas – P23, Q9.  Kansas is my worst track.  It seems so simple, but I am so slow here.

An-Almost Controversy

An iRacer who posed as real-life driver Tanner Gray  posted an inappropriate video, but Steve Myers was able to verify that it was not him and announced it in a Tweet.  Tanner also posted a statement distancing himself from the video.

The actual publisher of the video eventually took responsibility and apologized for his actions.

Fri open: Daytona

Ellis –   p6 Greg and I ran P1 thru the first part of the race. Stephen Eventually got up there with us… At one point I made a bad move to the top and lost sometrack position but worked my way up for the final restart for us to be first third and fifth. We lined up 123 on the bottom. We had a nice bit of a breakaway wind up coming to the final corners Stephan made a move on Greg and basically took the win everyone else came up quickly and it was a scramble. But we got the win. 

Rochette- P5

• Stephen-P1

• Greg – P3 – let 75 laps and lead the white flag lap
• Spiker – P13, Q2.  Ran up front, led laps, had a great green flag stop (Lap 39).  Saved fuel under every caution.  Started 3rd GWC in P3, ran out of fuel in T1/T2.  All in all, a plus positive in iR during Daytona Week!  

• Saturday Fixed –

• Greg p2 – Led 35 Laps and lead the white flag lap

• Hall – p wreck on white flag, running in third lane, and one of the “greats” made a mistake on the apron and took us all ou

• Sunday fixed 

Mike –p Got involved in the first three cautions one and a half minutes damage was able to recover after fixing it up to leave some labs on the final stop I ended up with excessive speeding and the Panthers had to drop to the end with a 18 to go. Got involved in another wreck 2 1/2 minutes damage I was getting it repaired and then at the end of the repair it’s so how gave me tires and I lost the lap. Later got the lucky dog and restarting P 10 for the final restart. Got wrecked coming to the line that put me over the incident limit black flag. P

Race :  Darlington

Wed Open:

Hall –p19  tough Strength of Field, 4.7 k.  Expected to get right at a top 20, should have had a 15th or higher but pitted on the wrong side during green flag stops.

Ellis – p12. Basically ran top five most of the day went to short pad on a green flag stop and the caution came out as we came on the pit Road ended up losing a lap. Never could get it back. 

Kyle P – P1 Started 10th and slowly worked my way to the top 5 in the first 7 laps. Lap 13 a caution comes out. I was trying a strategy that didn’t work out and restarted P1 but faded fast. In a hand full of laps we got a caution and I got tires. Restarted in the high 20’s and through attrition I marched my way back up front. With 6 to go im running 5th and not making up any more spots. A lapper lost it in front of the leaders and took out the top 3 and I edged out 4th place before the caution came out. From there it was focus time and after 4 more restarts I raced my way to a P1. Thank you to Mike for spotting and Bobby for cheering me on.

Tony R – P11 started 2nd. Stayed up front for most of the race. Just ran my tires off of the last 30 laps.

  3. Mike – p4. A good team showing. Too many cautions at the end we had to pit before the final gwc’s…. Several stayed out we still have no idea how they made it on fuel.

  1. Ellis  -Chris Maguire 87 cars at Talladega started P5 out of 40 got to the lead by lap three got wrecked later where I flipped completely upside down which was pretty fun. They had a competition caution and lined them up again started 19th got the ninth pretty quickly but then got dumped. 
  2. Missed the start got a wave around at the halfway mark ran up about halfway through the pack before getting wrecked. 
  3. Jen five car at Talledega started P 31 out of 40. Got up to about P6 before I wrecked. Kyle ghosted.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Fri open: Glen 

Ellis –   p20. 

• Hall – p21 taken out by ridiculous dive bomb
• Spiker – P P16, Q17 – Running P8-P12, I was too conservative on pit entry being too afraid to get caught speeding.  Ruined my run.  But Watkins Glen is a blast.

• Sunday Open

Hall – p 10   would prefer a better result but the race was fun as we had 4 cars basically in a close pack the whole run.  Had to stay on toes and turned fastest laps of the week.

Race :  Daytona

• Wed Open:
  • Hall –p 6  Struggled to get to the front, had to fix damage twice, finally caught some brakes at the end and had a shot but when it shook out i had no help
  • Ellis – p2 Got to the front pretty quick and led the first half of the race pretty much leading most of the laps. Obviously I used more fuel than everybody else and had to pit it before the halfway mark called out to my team member to stay out so he wouldn’t be screwed and pitted by myself. Much later in the race I finally catch a caution which puts me back into the race and on the same fuel strategy then restarted P seven. Then a couple late cautions I was able to get myself up to fourth , with this great run around the outside of a bunch of checked cars i went from 14th to 4th in one lap then was able to mix it up for the lead, on the white i was leading on the outside but no help 3 cars went low on me, fell to 4th but was able crossover and they wrecked but not quite enough P2. 
  • Kyle P – Pwrecked out
  • Tony R – P18 started on pole tucked in behind leader til green flag stops he pits 3 laps before me i take the lead back. Came out 2nd after my stop behind some lapped cars and hung out with them, took the lead back. Was gonna make it with only 1 stop but first caution came out with 20 to go. Should’ve stayed out as i fell back to 7th. But fast forward to white flag. Jumped to the outside in 8th had a car jump out in front let off the gas so i wouldn’t wreck him and got plowed from behind ugh…
  • Tyler – P 16 – started dead last as I was number 35 in my split. Played it safe and rode in the back. Out of 3 cautions I got tangled up in one with about 20 to go. Left front damage but not bad. Was able to rally up to 16th. Best part of the night was listening to our team finish solid. 
  • Tom D – P12 – had a top 5 q and ran up there the 1st run – once Mike took the lead I settled in behind him for the whole 1st run… He pitted before half way I stayed out w the leaders – after gf stops, still leading with enough fuel to make it… Much later a caution. Then the guy leading the outside gets bumper hooked into me and cleaned me out, no damage though, and tried to get back up there to help Mike but didnt have enough time. Great run, lead 5 laps, teammates running 1 and 2 the first half the race, a great event… 
  • Bobby –p1 So I shorted pitted under yellow, took tires and fuel, went 15ish laps, leaders pit, I made up enough spots picking way through to pit with them, came out in front and lead all the way til the white, then out of 4 took it back – 3 years straight wins at Daytona summer race! 6 straight years with a win in the nascar iracing series.That was crazy. Can’t thank my teammates at tifosi racing enough.
  • Spiker – P18, Q9.  I received a drive through penalty for passing under yellow.  After receiving the wave around and pit strategy, found my running P3 w/ 6 laps to go, I Lagano’d the outside line going into T1.  The most embarrassing moment yet.   
• Thurs Open  
  • Ellis – p Pole position! Couldn’t get away from the front so pulled over on the back stretch and fell the eight to try to save fuel. Eventually caught enough cautions where we didn’t need to save fuel anymore and I was leading at 30 to go. Second line finally form and got by me before another Caution at P7 was 17 to go. 
  • Did another caution restart it P6 with eight to go. Was rat P5 and got turned on a guy that was trying to go around the outside. Car done. 

Rochette P15 so car 27 check. Got pole check. Last 2 times i was the 27 on a pole i was a weiner. As my old football / weightlifting coach used to say: NOT TODAY. had a save of a lifetime early on as a car from the outside just murders my right rear and was sideways and saved it but wouldnt be the only time i would be sideways. White flag on the outside was hit and hit again making me ride the wall and than just slid to the backstretch on my driverside door. Fun times

• 24 Hour Endurance Series
  • Hall – P6,  we should have had a podium.  But still held on after a lot of damage to take 6th.
• A Open
  • Ellis – startedp30 to leave by Lap three. Wrecked out a few laps later. 
  • Got wrecked out on left two on a huge check up on the inside lane in the middle of the backstretch got wrecked from behind 2 1/2 minutes damage. I got it all fixed I missed the second caution but was involved in the third one. 126 damage on this wreck. 

• Ellis – Skippy is at Nuremberg Ring. 
  • Started mid pack and wrecked out on the first lap. 
  • Started seventh out of 14 and made it to P5
  • Started 13th got to 10th but then wrecked it
  • Start a P5 out of 14. By end of lap 1 i was up to second – i hunted the leader and forced the issue and got by, then i gapped him… Some guy who had started from pits was coming, was up to 3rd about 9 seconds back and he made up 7 seconds on me… my 85th career win
• F2000 – Indianapolis
  • F2000 -started P5 out of 16. Wrecked our lap one turn 2

• SPIKER
  • Nascar B Open, P10, Q9
  • Nascar C Open – P13, Q2.  Running P4, w/ less than 10 Laps to.  Taken out by P2 and P3

League / Hosted Races

• FastTrack League – Michigan

• 1. David – p game crashed half way through race
  2. Mike – p15. Started dead last in P 29 got to pee 20 by the end of lap one. Hit it when the fuel window opened from 15th and pretty much ran that position the rest of the race.

1. Ellis  –  Chris MacGuire – Hosted – 87 cars at Talladega started last p30. Got the lead by lap 10. Some guy parked it on the back stretch and the field came around and we plowed in. Hosts and admins were livid. 
2. Then started P 29 out of 35. I quickly get upto about 12th within three laps and sure enough there’s a slow lap car in the middle of the track as the pack is coming they tell him to move he doesn’t do anything we all wreck. So frustrating but this is happened twice in a row. And they have over a dozen admins. 
3. Supercars at Michigan- the sim crashed twice while getting into the car I rebooted and joined the race 4 laps Down. 
4. The gen 5 at iss. 261 top speed. Was p1 on the white and a guy passed me under the yellow and wiped me out. 
5. GEN five at Talladega. Got wrecked out lap 1
6. 87s and Pro two at wild West Park.

Talks about the 87’s development, getting Bobby Labonte involved. Went to NASCAR Alumni, crew chief, engineers and drivers from that period. He ended up will real setup notes, horsepower numbers, and many other things. iRacing incorporated all of it. Using what we know today we could make the car run faster and better, but back then they didn’t know what we know now so we didn’t do that, we kept it true to the period.

Garrett Lowe’s Unique ‘Sim to Reality’ Story

An article by Seth Eggert from Kickin the Tires, highlights Coke Series Veteran, Garrett Lowe as he runs his real life Legends Car, especially on nights he has to do double duty. He missed this years Coke Series All Star event to compete in the 2022 Summer Cook Out Series finale at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Lowe ended up finishing the Series in 3rd Place and has his eyes set on a move to a Late Model Series. The article goes on to explain that Lowe has been pulling double duty between the Coke Series and his Legends races dating back to 2020.

Hello sir!  First off I want to thank you for your podcast. I listen to it often and truly enjoy it.

So question for you that might even be a podcast topic.  What would you do if you saw a commercial during the coke race, with a cup series driver on iRacing making moves on the track in his sponsored car… then you realize that footage is actually you? It was actually you on track and your car from 7 months ago, but the car has been repainted (assuming trading paints) to look like this professional driver making moves on iRacing dodging crashes.

Well that happened to me tonight.

Fair point… what threw me off was it’s a Logitech commercial with iRacing clips in it.  Not an iRacing promo of any kind.

iRacing has my clip of that, I sent it in and it made the Daytona Highlights video back in February.

I just find it fun I can walk around and tell people I helped make Bubba Wallace look good. lol

Cammus DDWB 2021 + GT1 Wheel

Youtuber, Dan Suzuki, reviews the Cammus DDWB 2021 Wheel Base and GT1 Wheel. With the wheel being discounted to $500, Suzuki mentioned the price is, okay. He tested the wheel if both ACC and iRacing and found he was a little disappointed with how the wheel base performed in iRacing. The wheel base ships from China with a hefty shipping cost of nearly $200 bring the cost up. Overall, Suzuki indicated the DD for $500… “feels a little bit weak, but will probably be good enough for most people.”

Fri open: Richmond 

Ellis –   p 11 – Started P-24 eventually work my way up to as high as P4 with 50 to go. Ran my tires off this running fell way back to 17th. Got a late caution was able to work myself back up to a 11th. 

Rochette- P4 not bad for waking up from a nap 10 minutes before race time, having window update issues, doing the control figuration, and not having my seq shifter not working. Spent first half groggy and in the back. Eventually made my way up to 2nd for the final restart with 90 to go. Car got tight on me so lost a few. That was probably the longest Green flag run I’ve ever had a Richmond 

• Stephen-P1

• Hall – p 22.  Choked.  First had to reset after gridding.  It didn’t just take 1 set of 2 tires.   I had to run 100 laps on 1 set to get back even.  Had to take lucky dog twice.  Got back on sequence, climbed all the way to 9th, spun tires on last restart, had to collect it low and let whole field by.

Spiker – P23, Started P6. Car felt great and I had great long run speed.  After avoiding two early incidents, I decided to fall to the rear and pick off the casualties as the race went on.  That was a mistake as I fell victim to two additional incidents, one breaking my RF toe link (8M damage).  Ran the rest of the race with awesome long run speed.  Top 10 Speed.

• Sunday Open

• Rochette-P2 started in the middle of the pack. Had to pit first caution as  my screen was shuttering pretty bad. But made it to the front where battled last 1st for the last 15 laps. I swear if i wasn’t the nice guy i am the leader would’ve been bumped and ran out of 2 on the white flag 

Hall – p 8   Top Split, incident free.  Trapped a lap down cause green flag stops, quick caution made the wave around pay off.  Then Gained about 7 spots by staying out on 30 lap old tires for a GWC.

• Sunday fixed 

• Mike –p 8 – Ran mid pack basically most of the race, got as high as 8th at one point – with about 20 to go a lost it and fell to the back – but two late cautions bounced me from 20th to 15th… then gwc went 15th to 8th

• Stephen – p wrecked out on final restart

• Tyler – P 9 – yes, a top 10 at Richmond. Sliding sideways with 4 other cars to finish behind teammate Mike Ellis was wild! Eventful race but finally some luck. The seas parted at the right time. Finished with a 16x.

• Wed Open:

• Hall –p 9, actually had teammates in my split.  Clean race

• Ellis – p15- Started P 25 got to P 20 by Lap one. Followed Tom Driling until the stop at the halfway point. Cycled out to about 14th after the stops. At one point I caught an old rival that was fairly slow and tried to pass them in the bus stop and I drove in a bit deep and drove into him and a few of us wrecked. I am did up able to continue on. Brought it home. 

• Tony R – P9  love this track but on the slow side. Only 4x from off tracks from avoiding multiple guys squiggle squiggling. Shoutout to the winner Ryan Samuelson for having a big enough gap to 2nd and not lapping me. Thank you sir 

Tyler – P 22. Had a extremely fast run and felt great in the car. Pitted early to play with strategy but ended up eating meatballs as the car didn’t turn in the bus stop. Ran out of skill but glad I was fast for once. Excited for Sunday.

• Thurs Open  
  • Ellis – p9- started 17th got to 11th by lap two. Had a moment and fell back to 15th hit it at halfway from 15th worked my way back up to p9. 

Rochette P5 definitely bottom split. Lowest ir was a 169. Started 8th but 5th and 6th decided to kill eachother lap 1 T1 and squiggled when i should’ve woggled. Made my way downtown looking fast til i got lapped after i pitted. But got the best road result of the year after being the 2021 Tifosi NiS Road King

  • Started P 10, car 10. In the top split dead last. Got to p five by the end of the firstlap. Was able to hold it right up until right before the white where I spun on the final corner and got hit from behind and destroyed ended up finishing P9. 
  • Car number 13 out of 14 started 11th. I went off once nobody else really did and I ended up P 12
  • F2000 – Lucas Oil speedway – started p1 of 2 – and finished p1
  • Started p5 got to p2 but a faster car got me, finished p3 out of 11

• Restart – wilson bussa zalenski  kirwin up front
• Wilson has a great start and zalenski gets by bussa right away
• Bobby getting close waiting for a mistake by wilson as they take the white.
• Kirwin got to third – then bowlin then manes 
• Zalenski looks low wilson throws the block and holds him off and Wilson wins!

What Regrets Do you Have?

La Broca Sim Racing posted a video laying some of his regrets regarding the amount of money he has spent in a year and a half on the service. He provides good advice on what content you should or should not purchase. When and when not to make purchases.

In March 2022, La Broca indicated he has spent $231 Euros. Averaging out to be $21 Euros a month. Honestly, does not sound that bad.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Race :  Michigan

• Wed Open:
  • Ellis – p19 – Got as high as tenth at one point but would fade on longer runs – ended up short pitting the gf stop, and shook out to be lucky dog – decided to save the last set of tires for the next cautio, but there wasn’t no caution…. Faded from p12 to 19th
  • Kyle P – P7 Started P6. Did my best to save tires but found myself fading so decided to push hard and the car got loose after an early race adjustment. Adjusted back to the original setup and the car was comfortable again but now it was time to move back up from 19th. Slowly worked my way up through the field and just couldn’t get that top 5 finish I was shooting for. Bringing home a P7.
  • Tony R – P10 was too loose start of the race. 1 caution burned up my tires on 2nd run 17th to 5th in 5 laps and faded hard and couldnt catch the leaders after
  • Tyler – P29. Was running around 20th as green flag cycles were wrapping up when I brushed the wall in between 3 and 4. Couldn’t get off the wall and spun out completely. No caution and just decided to pit. Was hoping for a late caution to get the lucky dog but was not luck. Bummed out. Solid set. Thanks Tony for the help.

Ellis – p8 – Car number one, started 15 no cautions green flag run – some people short pitted i didnt waited until 3 laps of fuel left had pitted from 5th, ended up about 10th when it shook out then caution w 20 to go. Then another caution w 3 to go went from 10th to 8th…

• F2000 – Oran park – Qual P6 out of 13. Got the fourth and then on lot two stuffed in the wall hard intern one it’s so easy to overdrive. After a long toe back on track. Finished p8
• Started P5 our a P 10 got ran over from behind on lap one turn to go back to dad last about 15 seconds back from the ninth Place driver. Kept it on the track the rest of the race and work my way back up to fourth.

• PDS Euro Sprint Series
  • Hall –  P1 at Sebring.  One of my favorite road courses.  Hard Fought but after pits and some how picked up 20 seconds on the other contender. 
    • 2nd win, small field, beat a guy with 500 more irating than me by 30 seconds. 
• Stock Car Brazil

Tyler – P1 at Watkins Glen, no boot. Started on pole and ran 3rd close to 1 and 2 the entire race till around 25 minutes in leaders pitted. I used a different set and was able to run the full 30min race without stopping. Extremely please I had the speed and the strategy for once. Took my Chevy Cruze to victory lane. LETS GO!!!
