How To See Like A Pro

Listener Feedback: The Protest System

From DrOrzy:

Hey guys, just catching up on a cpl poddies so I’m a bit late.

Just listening to you guys talking about the Protest System – The biggest issue imo aside from the fact that it’s all kept behind closed doors is that there’s no real consequences for being a dick. Sure you get sat out for a week but is that really a punishment?! I understand from a business point of view that it might not be the smartest thing to start sitting out people for months at a time as I’m sure they will just end up leaving. HOWEVER, if it really is about teaching and learning from the moment, then why not bring in a system where the perpetrators must suffer a real consequence and prove themselves before getting back to the real racing?!

So my idea is sort of dishing out a Probationary licence which can vary in different grades depending on the severity or regularity of repeat offenders. This way they still have access to the service but are forced to learn from their mistakes before given the full licence back.

For example something like for a light offence you must complete 2 Rookie races with a maximum of 5 or 6 X’s per race. This will allow for someone running into them but at the same time force them to think about their race craft so as not to cause any extra X’s themselves.
For more severe cases and especially repeat offenders they can be handed a “Practice only” Probationary license where they must complete a given number of minimum HOURS and laps before being back allowed to race in officials.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Watkins Glen

  • Kyle – P10 had a sloppy start to the race. Started P9 and picked off a few spots in the first 3 laps and then avoiding a wreck I lost the car and slammed the left side again. Pitted instantly to avoid driving with damage and being slow.. 12 seconds of damage and I was back to speed. I came out 29th and just rocketed my way through cars. Pitted on lap 29 and came out just in front of the leader but my tires were too cold to hold him off so I just matched his lap times staying a half a second off his bumper. Finally with about 8 to go we started catching traffic so I backed off to let him split the cars up and then I pounced on 5 spots in 2 laps and just drove away to finish P10. I’ll take the 0x with a SR gain and the IR gain.

Sunday Open- NiS – Watkins Glen

  • Tom – P7
  • Kyle – P5 started P7 and just ran the piss out of the front tires for 27 laps and had made it to P3. Pitted and just held on for the rest of the race. Half spun into turn 1 and lost a couple of spots to bring it home P5.

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Watkins Glen

  • Kyle – P8 Started P7 and just hung around the top 10 all race. Midway lap car decided he didn’t want to give in and took my line into the bus stop so I dove through the grass and he doored me causing a small amount of damage and then claimed he didn’t know I was there. Guess his spotter was on a pee break. Coming to 1 to go, the crew chief says pit now and I had less than a lap of fuel left. Decided to stay out and just had to baby it around to save fuel. Turn 10 it sputters and by the end of turn 11 I had to coast to the finish.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Richmond

  • Kyle – P Wrecked. The car was great was playing the halfway strategy and just bounced back and forth through the field. On my last restart I got collected in a wreck and had over 10 minutes of damage. I’m one and done at Richmond. Can’t stand the nonstop cautions.
  • Chris – P 26. Got loose and wrecked myself. 18 cautions… rough night.
  • David – P11.  Started in the pits, immediate caution put me a lap down, piddled around a half a lap behind the pack for the first 100 laps, and got the lucky dog.  At some point I worked into the top 10.  Running 6 on a late restart and got straight left hooked while being all the way up against the wall.  Limp home 11th cause so many other cars were worse off. This racing is beyond trash, but you can protest saying fuck, but can’t protest guys who race like fucks.
  • Brad- P15 Started p9 and drove up to the front early. Was collected in a wreck about half way and had to fight back from a lap down and get damage fixed. The race was a total disaster in regards to race craft, 21 yellows for 87 laps. As the laps were winding down I was back in the top 10 and making my way back to the front. Last restart I was able to drive to p2 and just after taking the white flag, I was disconnected from the server. What a waste of 2.5 hours. So defeated and frustrated. If it could go wrong  this season, it has.

Thursday Open- NiS – Richmond

  • Mike- P wrecked out got involved in one of the mini cautions with three minutes damage was able to get almost all of it fixed before I eventually spun by myself causing caution got tagged several times and it killed the car DNF.

Official Series

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P car number 10 out of 16 at Dover start a 12. A clean race no cautions at all green flag stop at halfway where I blew a right front and I was able to bring it home p9
    • Had a good run I pinned on an early caution and no one else did didn’t catch any other cautions let some laps, what I needed to blew a tire with three to go pitted on the white but still finished P4

A Open

  • Brad W – P14 I spun during qualifying and started at the back. Again, another race with no race craft. I was collected in multiple wrecks and did nothing but rack up incident points. Was able to work way to the front and raced the last 50 laps with 16x and 1x away from a drive through. Last lap running in p6, turn 3 p4 sends it from about 10 cars back and hits me and spins himself out and that gives me a drive through and I get out to last on the lead lap. You just can’t make this stuff up. If there is a way out of my control to have a good run ruined, it is happening to me.

C Open

  • Kyle P6 – Watkins Glen started P10. I decided to go with strategy and save fuel for a handful of laps. Saved enough which saved my tires to not have to pit and after about 7 laps of falling to the back and saving fuel. I hammered down and just ran hot laps for the rest of the race. Working my way up to the front I see an old friend and decide that’s my goal to beat him. After about 4 laps of tracking him down it took 2 laps to get around him and set sail for the finish. 1st-6th didn’t pit and it looks like that was the right strategy to get a good finish. Watkins Glen was good to me this week. I think this might be my favorite road course.

Ring Meister

  • Mike – P SRF started P2 went into the grass trying to pass. Somebody fell back to 13th and rallied back to finish ninth with a classic game of chicken at the end and we both wrecked out. Basically it was super fun.
    • Ran again, started second fell back to seventh ended up getting squeezed off and a tight corner and wrecked.
    • Start a P2 finish P4 had nothing for the top three they were faster
    • Then we switched to pro Mazda at the ring start at eight finish p seven.
    • Started at 11th out of 22 getting wrecked out and the first lap ended up launching over a curb trying to miss a different wreck and killed my car DNF
    • Was running fifth had a spin when someone ahead of me had spun save the car work my way back up and come into the checker. The guy behind me tried to overtake me on the final breaking, but missed the breaking point went across the grass and plowed me hard DNF about 50 yards from the finish line.
    • Next race qualified fifth finish ninth we finally finish but I did get wrecked with the car was OK so I was able to finish saw a massive unsafe rejoin. The guy was in the grass. Two of us were coming up the hill. He comes straight across the entire track right in front of us and get T-bone by one guy I barely missed.
    • Start a 10th finish 12 straightforward race.

IMSA

  • Brad W – P4. This was a good race. No major issue and had a good time trying to run down p3 towards the end. Somehow managed to only pick 2x over the entire race. I wish I could have run more of them but time was tight last week.
  • William W- Daytona P2,P2, P2, P2, P11, P8 – won’t talk about all of them or we’d be here an hour. The P2s were all good races but nothing out of the ordinary. Qualified around 2-5 for all of them and kept it consistent. Just couldn’t get over the hump for a win. Close on some, others the P1 was just way faster. The P11 I messed up qualifying. Spun lap 1 and lap 2 was .5 a lap slower that I had been all week on lap 2. Started 16th which put me in the middle of the messiest split I’ve seen in some time for all 3 classes. GT3 crashed before the line. Made it through but got some damage that cost some time on the oval portion. On about lap 9 place in front of me chopped my nose and spun himself, would have been fine but an oblivious GTP behind us never hit the brake. Spun me and caused wheel damage. Pit and fixed 4.5 min of repairs and still was able to finish 11th. Would have been 9th but had to splash fuel on the last lap. Proud of the P8. First time truly in top split IMSA with the exception of single split weeks. SOF of 3800. There were a couple aliens up front that were .5 a lap faster, but overall held my own in the 2.8-4k range. Tried real hard for 7th but good defending from him.

League / Hosted Races

Grass Roots Racing

GTP/GT3 League – Road Atlanta Sprint Race

  • William W –  P Last. Hardware failure on lap 8. Started dropping frames as soon as the green flag dropped after not having issues at all during 40 min of practice, 10 min of qualifying and another race previously. Caused an off track on lap 2. And then on 8 frames dropped to 10. Undriveable. Just tried to get off the track and out of peoples way and parked it. Not the way I was looking for my favorite track to go, but seemingly having more and more issues since the season 2 update. My overnight stints at Spa had issues with frames and so did a previous league race. Wiped the computer and seems to have helped but still not as smooth as it should be. Starting to get real old from the client.
  • Brad W – P6 overall and p5 in class. This has historically been a horrible track for me. I normally have decent pace but just have struggled to finish. The racing in this league is so good. We had 42 cars on track and everyone was really respectful all race long. I started toward the front and was able to stay in top 7-8 all race. Planning to get a couple officials in this week but they are a lot warmer temps than what GRR ran.

IROC Challenge Series Season 10 Daytona Race 1

  • Kyle P4 started P19 Started out like most super speedways just clicking off laps. Got involved in a midway wreck collected by TJ Majors. After using my 1 quick repair I was back on the hunt for the front. On the last caution we went green with 4 to go and I just stayed glued to the car in front of me. Until the last lap turn 2 I darted out and got a big run and jumped to 4th. Coming to the line, the top 5 spread out and I’m gaining quickly on the top 3 but just ran out of track to bring it home P4.

Sim Gaming Expo Semifinal

  • Brad W – P was wrecked out. I don’t think I had any chance to advance but really hated to get taken out after just 10 minutes of racing. The cars ahead of me really messed up coming out of the LeMans chicane. That gave me a great run and I had to shoot the middle to avoid hitting. The guy on the inside just decided to turn right and go up the track and take me and another driver out. One of the most stupid moves I’ve ever seen. That move took about 4 cars out. It would have been great to finish the race at least.
  • Greg- wrecked out
  • David – P21 – these guys were stupid fast
  • Mike P18 – started tail NP 25 had a very clean race no mistakes no nothing got as high as P 17 and finished P 18.

Hosted-

  • Ellis – Del Laura Dash at Talladega start at seven ended up winning winner winner chicken dinner made a great move up the middle to get my final track position
    • 87’s at Talladega got wrecked out on the White fighting for the win. One of the admin was involved and thought I caused it and actually black flagged me. I spoke up saying I actually got hit from behind so the next race I actually got a nice apology.
    • Supercars at Michigan got wrecked out while leading. Had come from the back.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Iowa

  • David – P dumped once again
  • Brad- P14. Started p6 and was in a very good spot for a good night until the yellow came out in the middle of green flag pit stops. This trapped all cars but 17 either 1 or 2 laps down. Was able to run a bit longer than some and made up ground as the race was finishing but was never ever to get back on the lead lap. Oh what could have been.
  • Kyle – P14 Qualified 15th and just drove my way to the top 10 passing brad but then faded backwards. Dropped to 16th and just drove around until a driver decided he was going to drive through me because he had just gotten fresh tires. Unfortunately it trapped brad a lap down but I will let him tell his story. Drove around the top 10 most of the race and pitted with 20 to go. Came out and just started picking off spots and trying to get back to the lead lap. Just ran out of laps on a really long green flag run and made it back to 14th for the finish.

Sunday Open- NiS – Iowa

  • David – P wrecked out at end by unavoidable.  BUt hte race craft just continues to be shit, getting close to quitting NiS again.

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Iowa

  • Mike- P3- had a great run really ran top five top 10 all day stayed out of trouble. Miss the racks had good tire strategy at the end but just not enough track position. I couldn’t really get the first and second on those final restarts but happy to bring home a podium finish P3
  • Tom – P wrecked out

Wednesday Open -NiS – Watkins Glen

  • Kyle – P19 Started P13. Car was fast and on rails. Worked up to P4 and was running down P3 half a second back and P3 gets out of shape in the bus stop and I tried to avoid him but in doing so I lost control and smacked the left side on the wall. Ran another 11 laps hurt and could just feel the left front was done for. Pitted on lap 20 and repaired almost 2 minutes of damage came out P27 and just picked off spots as I could. It sucks to be so fast and knowing I can compete for a top 5 and yet I have to just ride around 2 laps down. Onto friday night NIS to redeem myself.
  • Brad- P23 after starting p23 in top split. I should have been in the mid-teens but made too many mistakes throughout that race. Careless spins and lockups never allowed me to get back by drivers that were slower. I have said it before, it does not matter what car I drive , I just don’t race well at The Glen.

Thursday Open- NiS – Watkins Glen

  • Mike- P6 qualified P5. Lap three I go through the bus stop and get too close to the grass going over the curb. It launches me and the car bottoms out and spins out. I couldn’t get back going without letting everybody go by to avoid an unsafe rejoined blended back in 23rd and then drove up to P7 before pit stop started at halfway after stops and got to the end. I finished as P6. Great recovery.

Official Series

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P13 start a 14 out of 16th at Iowa top split. I run like garbage here and basically finished dead last on the lead lap P 13.
    • Indianapolis motor Speedway started 22nd out of 30 finished P 17 at some .44. The guy in front of me coming up off too didn’t go and I actually ran over him and got a bunch of front end damage.

Ring Meister

  • Mike – qualified on Paul this time I drove the Ferrari bottom split. Was able to finish P3 after a good battle at the end with a game of chicken on who’s gonna break first at the end of the long straight he ended up hitting me and getting by I was in second at a time.
    • Then pull position again it was able to keep it and actually pull a gap to win it by over 11 seconds winner winner chicken dinner!
    • Then started third ended up getting wrecked out going up the hill.
    • Then started fourth went off a few times never wrecked the car though and was able to recover to seventh from 10th
    • Monday night we switched to the spec racer. Ford started first and wrecked in like corner number three. I don’t know how to stop this thing.

IMSA

  • William W- P2 Daytona. Started P3 but messed up my second quali lap or could have had pole. Fell to P4 on the start and got moved out of the way in turn 1 on the second lap by a merc who shouldn’t be racing at this level. He then proceeded to park it in every apex because he was not faster. Fell to P7 at one point. Got to 6th by a spin, passed The aforementioned Merc when he over cooked it fighting P5 acura, got past the acura next lap, and then the merc proceeds to kill them both. Dodged a bullet there. Got 4th in the pits and got P2 and 3 on pace. Closed the 10 second gap to the leader to 1 second in the last 7 laps, but just lost too much time fighting those guys early. Good result. Will do a lot more of these before track changes on Monday.

League / Hosted Races

Grass Roots Racing

GTP/GT3 League – Daytona Endurance Race

  • William W –  P7. Started dead last because of work. Literally got into the sim with 45 seconds left to grid. Had to fight from P30 all the way up. Got to P6 by the first pit stop but didn’t register in my brain that my stall would probably be early. Blew it by like 6, got lucky didn’t get DQ with the back up, lost to 12th by the time I came out. Got back up to 7th by the next stop, passed Will for 6th and probably could have gotten 5th but self spun coming out of the bus stop pushing too hard. Luckily not much damage. Fell to 9th, recovered to 7th for finish. I love my job, but sometimes it really sucks. This was a track I could definitely have pushed for the win on pace. Was a great drive through the field, but man what could have been.
  • Brad W – P spun out and quit. I qualified up front but contact with the rear of a car in front of me coming through T6 caused me to spin out. I watched the entire field come by before being able to get going. From then on I was driving very aggressively trying to make up time but having to be careful with slower cars not in my class. Ended up having some that were just determined to race me, not sure why but I ended up spinning again in T6 and decided to park it. There was no chance for points and it was the perfect ending to one of the worst days at work in some time.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Indy

  • David – P12
  • Brad- P Wrecked Out Lap 2. Had the oddest wreck coming off of T2. I had a run on the car ahead and I pulled to drivers left coming off the corner and the car just broke loose and spun into the outside wall. I really can’t explain it.
  • Kyle – P15 track temp was hot and so was my temper. Couldn’t keep the backend of the car in the right direction off of 4 and couldn’t get slowed down enough for turn 3. Was able to avoid the mess of all the wrecks. Wanted to bring home a win at my home track. Maybe next year?

Sunday Open- NiS – Indy

  • David – P3, flipped track position with pit strat
  • Kyle – P11 started P10. Car felt great even on a long run. Restarts were wild. Got collected in a restart wreck that required about 30 seconds of repairs and then I had to march back to the front. To bring it home P11.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Iowa

  • Kyle – P4 Started P6 car was great fell back to 12th when I half spun but worked back up to the front during a 67 lap run. Restarted P2 with 3 to go. Would of been a P2 finish but I over drove turn 3 on the last lap and lost 2 spots.
  • Chris – P 6. Cautions came out hot and heavy. Used ChatGPT to crew chief me. Took 2 tires with 3 to go starting P10. There was a wreck every GWC, ended under yellow P6. Should be 4th but cars that wrecked got their spot back. Good run for the championship. Big thanks to our sponsors: Waldron’s Furniture, iRacers Lounge, Premier Setups, and Sim Wraps — keeping us fast, smart, and looking sharp all season long.”
  • David – p22, got straight dumped, guy claims there was a gap, was no gap he just hit my rear bumper
  • Brad- P24 after starting p5. I tried to pace myself early on and save tires. I was running in the top 10 till getting off on the pit cycle. I was working my way back toward the front when a car head spun to the inside in T3. I went to pass him high and he hit a car on his inside and came back up into the racing line. Almost 9 minutes of damage. Sat and got all repaired just to save SR. The iRating slide continues….2k bound it seems.

Thursday Open- NiS – Iowa

  • Mike- P9 two or three cars wrecked on the pace lap from a guy scrubbing his tires and spinning out and wiping out the outside Lane. Had a pretty good run with green flag stops, was caught a lap down after that but the caution came out, took the wave around and got another quick caution got dumped running in the top eight near the end but was able to recover back due to several late cautions to finish P9.

Official Series

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P20- at Talladega got near the front, but didn’t have good moves and ended up getting involved in other people’s big racks and finished P 20
    • Top split Sunday night had a great run going and got in a wreck two minutes damage. The engine wouldn’t go over 140 miles an hour when I fix the two minutes it was perfectly fine. It was really weird but recovered from that was able to lead laps, including right near the end. I was dumped while leading finished P 22.
    • Had a great race go on top split was second coming to the white I went to go up and around the leader and he went to block and took us both out. Finished P 16.
    • Finish P 14 out a P 16 got involved in it. Another person‘s rack couldn’t miss it. Eight minutes damage had to limp at home.

A Open

  • Brad W – P18 (Iowa) Started p6 and was doing ok till getting loose off of T4. Popped teh wall and had 2 minutes of damage. Was able to get all but 30 seconds fixed. The race came down to GWC and I was in a good spot to salvage a p10-12 spot. Only to get collected in a wreck. I’m really struggling to find enjoyment right now.

B Open

  • Kyle – P13 Some of the most fun you can have in a car. The car was a blast to drive especially when the whole race goes green and you get to do green flag pit stops. Started P14 and just ran all 60 laps as consistently as possible. This car really should get its own half length official races. And no I didn’t Austin Hill anyone.

Ring Meister

  • Mike – qualified 16 out of 27GT3Z the Nunberg ring. Got wrecked out pretty early.
    • Qualified before the x-ray and ended up on pole position starting first out of 30 but but out while leading about a quarter way into the lap held my break almost every single car got around me in the last guy to come by clips me and gives me heavy damage
    • Started second, but wrecked out in one of the first corners by hitting the turtles and put it in the wall
    • Try again, sharded second made it about a quarter lap before I went off track and killed the car

GT4

  • William –  P13 –Will Weaver convinced me to run GT4 at Silverstone. Was a disaster. Haven’t run GT4 in about a year, qualified slow and forgot to change to race setup. Had to pit 4 laps in.

FIA F4 Americas

  • Mike – P Laguna Seca started 19th finish P 17 spun off once

League / Hosted Races

Grass Roots Racing

GTP/GT3 League – Silverstone Sprint Race

  • William W –  P7. Botched quali so had a tough road ahead of me. On lap 2 in turn 3 there was a huge stack up and I got damage from hitting the car in front. Was running 6th at the time, but that really hurt on the straights. Let brad by for 6th because he was faster and pit as soon as I could to get the damage fixed. Came out about 6 seconds behind brad after it cycled and ran him down the last 2 laps, but couldn’t get the pass done. Don’t hate the track, but not my favorite.
  • Brad W – P6 Did not have a great qualifying session so started mid teens. Was able to gain a bunch of spots on the start. Had a great battle with William early on that we would resume as the race was ending. I was very excited to see this track on the schedule for IMSA this season but it was changed to the Bend after the update. Felt more like a GT3 race than multiclass racing. I can’t believe I’m going to say it but we need some GTP drivers.

KCE Racing League

  • Donnie S –  Sunday Night Truck Series – Iowa – Started P13, Finished P13.  I had a good strategy going until I self spun off of four during final stops putting me a lap down.  Turn four was especially difficult throughout the race.
    • Tuesday Night Gen4 – Las Vegas – Started in the rear, Finished P8.  Tire wear was brutal throughout the race prompting several different strategies.

Hosted-

  • Ellis – Indy car at Charlotte oval with damage off got through the race with a couple spectacular wrecks. A lot of fun.

Help From iRacing

https://x.com/A_S12/status/1948036820354097564

As it has with several other events in recent years, iRacing helped NASCAR design the track that will be built for the race. A handful of drivers have already tested the virtual track on the iRacing digital platform. Grandstands, suites and general-admission areas will be set up.

Scanned the base several months ago… (7 minute mark) – Already have track model built out. Have had drivers on it…. Looking at bumps and such… Its a great collabative process… To have a partner like iracing where we can dream up these concepts years in advanced, they can use thier system to build out these tracks, which have a lot of validity behind them, and to put real drivers on it and test it real time to give us feedback, kudos to them.

Who Is The Undisputed King?

Why is iRacing dominating the sim racing world in 2025? It’s not because of the graphics. It’s not even because of the physics. In this video, I break down the real reasons iRacing continues to lead the pack — from its addicting ranking system and nonstop competition, to the convenience that keeps racers coming back.

We’ll talk about:

✅ Why iRacing feels like the “Netflix of sim racing”

✅ How iRating turns races into obsession

✅ Why other sims still can’t compete — even with better visuals

✅ And whether it’s all actually worth the price tag

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Dover

  • David – P dnf,  tire blew with 7 laps to go, then I sped, then I stopped in the pits and exited
  • Tony -P34 self spun out of 4 10 laps in. Yup on par on how my last 3 years in nis has been
  • Brad- P Last. Popped RF tire on the first run. Trying to get to pitroad I hit the barrels and got the dreaded “Too much damage, we’re done.” Really disappointing week at Dover.

Sunday Open- NiS – Dover

  • David – P 9, caution came out trapping me a lap down and playing to the advantage of guys who ran their tires longer instead of splitting the stints.
  • Tony – P14 tried staying out of trouble. Avoided a couple of wrecks but one of em had me dodge a car and into the wall. Tried getting damage fixed and was wanting to go a lap down to get get more and ended up leaving pit road just ahead of the leaders on the restart… ( needs to be 4 laps not 3 for any track thats under mile and ½) long run to end so never got laps back
  • Kyle – P7 Started P9 and just ran a top 5 race for the most of the first half of the race. Couldn’t keep tires on it to hold a top 5 finishing spot. Lap 131 Driver decides to try and get under me in turn 2 and just drove through me and I fell back to 16th. Quickly came up through the field and just hung around the 7th position until the end of the race.

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Dover

  • Mike- P3- had a good run going. I even led some laps at one point caused caution by myself, spitting out while racing for the lead.  Was able to recover and finish P3 on the final stop. I took tires a few others didn’t they won and I didn’t great run, however will take the podium.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Indy

  • David – P10 dirty first half, green for last 60 laps or so, wasn’t fast, just consistent
  • Bobby – P was running after fixing 8 minutes of damage, internet failed

Thursday Open- NiS – Indy

  • Mike- P2- 21 cautions four hours kept it clean somehow ran top five most of the race was leading with 25 to go leading holding a gap if it would’ve stayed green, I had it one for sure but we got a caution for green white checkers on the first restart. The guy drove it in there deep on the apron and I gave him enough room so he didn’t kill us and he took the spot and I could never recoverP2
  • Bobby – P wrecked out

Official Series

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P had a pretty clean race got to the lead at one point but hit the wall just a few too many times to really contend with the leader and so I finished P2
    • Top split started 12 worked my Way forward was gonna finish ninth but on the last lap, a few others wrecked and I ended up finishing a nice P6.
    • Qualified six top split pretty uneventful Reyes finished P5
    • Qualified third the leader started for the pitch so I ended up on Paul lead a few laps put on lap 12 ended up losing some track position then I ended up shorting on the long run everybody else, but I did a fuel only like a fool and it didn’t work out and I finished P8
    • Switching to Talladega. Let a smart race kept myself. Patient made good moves. Avoided some racks near the end at a restart went from 7th to 1st for the late caution to come out and then held it from there to win the race. Winner winner, chicken dinner.
    • Qualified nine out of 26 wrote around in the top five basically most of the race let a few laps was pretty much in a good position near the end, but made one bad move to pull up in front of the second lane and they split me and just couldn’t fully recover from that mistake but still got up to P5
    • Then P 13. No cautions early and we ended up with green flag stops a group Short pit at everybody. They ended up with a big lead. We finally caught a caution restarted that late caution seventh was able to position myself to be in third place on the white with help from behind we had a huge run coming. We were gonna blow right by him. He was pushing me through the corner and I got turned off his nose and dumped basically and he went on the win.
    • Had a good race going on let some laps near the end. Was in the middle of a three wide and the guys on the outside got a run and they were coming down but the second or third car back wasn’t clear and just cleared himself off my nose and wrecked the field. Four minutes damage I finish P 22.
    • Got wrecked out on lap 15 real bad blew up the entire right front of the car.

A Open

  • Brad W – P8 (Indy) Started p13 and just tried to keep it clean. We only had one caution and that was just before halfway. Extremely hard to pass so track position is at a premium. Qualify and defend early on.

IMSA

  • Brad W – P5 (GT3-Interlagos) Definitely felt the benefit from running the GRR race here earlier in the week. The Merc had good pace and I was able to drive with more confidence at the start.

GT Sprint Simucube Series

  • Brad – P11 (VIR) Gave a top 5 away with a pit error. Started p14 and drove up into the top 6 before pitting. Thought for certain that I had cleared my tires but nope. Extremely frustrating to throw a great finish away.

Indycar iRacing Series

  • Kyle P- P2 Indy cars at Kansas80 laps of green flag racing and green flag pit stops. Fought the last 15 laps on the bottom 3 wide to squeeze out a P2 narrowly falling to P3 by less then the nose wing. Some of the most fun I’ve had racing since I joined iRacing 5 years ago.

League / Hosted Races

Grass Roots Racing

GTP/GT3 League – Road America Endurance

  • William W –  P3 –  Enduro at Road America. One of my favorite tracks and always look forward to coming here. Could have quali on pole, but did not put enough gas in the set and ran out coming to the line. We run 60% to force a second stop. Took tires during the second instead of the first and that was probably the wrong decision. Came into the pits 2 seconds behind first, and by the time I got my tires warm I was 6s down. Ran P2 down but could not make the pass. Disappointed in myself. I was much faster but he did an exceptional job defending. Had a run out of the carousel, he defending into canada, I had the pass but got in the debris on the outside and lost the car. Contact and let him have the position as I think it damaged his car. Overall not bad, but could have been better.
  • Brad W – P8 overall and p7 in class and really good race over all. The fuel limit was interesting because it forced us to pit twice during the 90 minute race. I took tires on second stop and thinking back I think it would have worked out better to do the opposite. The new tires were very hard to get heat into them with the rubbered up track. Definitely something to think about for the next one.

Hosted-

  • Ellis – supercars at Michigan came from the back to lead the most laps that got wrecked out coming into the white
    • 87 at Talladega started near the back worked my way forward and finished the race P one winner winner, chicken dinner. It wasn’t too pretty. I was on the bottom. I came up a little bit. He came down to the middle. It was a net code about a foot in between us, but he’s fine and the entire field wrecked besides me so I won the race

NASCAR iRacing Series

Wednesday Open -NiS – Dover

  • David – P9.  started from pits, but caution early.  In a run later I start trying to cautiously move forward, but get loose and because I loose velocity on exit the person behind can’t help but hit me.  Then the race goes through a shit show phase, and of course I get hit by a arca braker and then other just self spinner, up to 14x.  I drop on the next start nearly a half a lap back, and we get a very long run, was able to start picking off all the way up to 5th before green flag pitting.  Caution with 50 to go, upset cause I don’t feel safe with 14x, but manage to stay clear of the wrecks and bring it home 9th.
  • Kyle – P4 after 3 weeks of dropping IR and SR like a rock. I walk away with a solid top 5. Started P16 and just worked my way up quickly through the field. Stayed top 5 for the first half of the race and then we went on a 94 lap run. After 90 laps on the run the meatball showed up and I needed a Right Front. Got 4 tires and some fuel and just started picking off cars. Caution comes out with 2 to go and the GWC happens. Cycled around the pace car to restart in the back but in P6. On the restart I went to the High Line and just let her eat. Picked off P5 quickly and started hunting down P4. 1 to go on the back stretch, I’m door to do with P4 and he goes high and his tires were too far gone and he nails the outside wall out of 4 and I cruise to a P4. Sadly I’m just as excited about a P4 as if I would if I won the race.
  • Chris – Chris – P13. Got stuck two laps down when the caution came out before the leader had pitted, trapping the field a lap down. Later, another caution came, and for some reason, there was no wave-around — even though the leaders had pitted and all cars ahead were a lap down. Still… P13 – 3 laps down. I’ll take it.
  • Brad- P15 Started p12. Was wrecked on the pace lap (you know who you are). Then wrecked after being taken three wide twice before 10 laps. Was able to get some damage fixed but the car never had pace after that. I was so tight and no matter what I changed the car would not free up. Ended up losing a lap but managed to finish p15. Looking for a better run on Friday.

Thursday Open- NiS – Dover

  • Mike- Pdnf- was pretty fast top 10 but then I got in an incident with about five minutes damage and then we had a long green run with green flag stops lost a lap eventually got my lap back with a wave around and. But more wrecks was running ninth on the lead lap near the end when I’m sitting at 16 X and going around under caution some guy is on the apron trying to drive straight up onto the banking as cars go by and somehow I didn’t see him and ran into him And blew the motor
  • David – P24, caught in early wreck 13 minutes damage, had to fix.  Drove around for safety rating and 10 other cars dnf’ed

Official Series

Spa 24 Hours

  • Brad, Justin, David and Tom P43. The race was really over before it got started. I was collected in an accident in the bus stop on lap 2 that caused over four minutes of damage and cost us two laps. From then we tried hard to battle back but each of us had issues on cold tires and mine was the one that did us in around hour 8. I had lazy spin and minimal contact with the wall but lost the rear wing. The spotter will not alert you of this so I went on and when I got to O’rouge I killed the car. 10 minutes of damage and we were already many laps behind. Tough race and a really challenging track with cold tires especially at night.
  • William With GRR- P1!!! Split 4 of the 12 EST slot on Saturday. However, we didn’t finish P1 on track. In the race we finished P2 1 lap behind the  leader, but they were DQ’d for tanking 2 days after the race. We did not protest them, and only found out last night when I went to look something up about the race. Overall the race went really well. Had a smurf that got karma’d with a DC early, 1.5 seconds faster than the field at 1.8k. Qualified 33, but the guy who went into the car first went from 33 to 9 then to 13 dodging a wreck. Handed me the car in 13. Ran 2 clean stints and handed the car over in 5th. Kinda disappointed in the performance of the sim overall though b/c as soon our 3rd guy got in his game crashes. We lost a lap, went down to 16th, but luckily we were able to get someone else right in the car. Rest of the race spent grinding. I got the car in 3rd the next stint, handed it off in the same place, and at some point we caught and passed. 2nd. Fantastic time, 0 damage for us the whole race which I think is a major reason we had the finish we did.

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P qualified fifth out of 16 at Homestead 32 drivers with two splits. I don’t get it. Why can’t we just have one split this is NASCAR right?
    • Qualified second out of 21 basically ran second till around halfway tried to go low on the leader couldn’t hold. It came up into him and wreck both seven minutes damage soldier Dawn to try to finish and finished P9.
    • Switching to Pocono top split qualified six out of 17. Had a pretty good race ended up finishing P3.
    • 12 out of 25 in top split. Had a good run going and got a stack up where somebody didn’t go on the start and I ran over him had to serve a black flag under green was able to recover from dead last clear up to the lead where everyone pitted with about 12 to go except for me and I stayed out that ended up not working well And I was getting real pushy and fell clear back to P9
    • Qualified 10 out of 17 top split. Had a good run going up to about round fifth but then I creamed the wall coming out of two real hard 5 1/2 minutes damaged I fixed about three minutes worth of damage stayed on the lead lap and by the end it worked myself up to finish P8.

GT Sprint Simucube Series

  • Brad – P17 (Spa) iRacing locked up right as qualifying was getting ready to start. By the time I got back in and tried to qualify I did not have enough time. Started P25 and made some progress but never enough speed to get to the front.

League / Hosted Races

Grass Roots Racing

MX5 League

  • William W- P4. Not much to say other than the mx5 is pretty fun here even if I have a deep hatred for this track

GTP/GT3 League

  • William W –  P6. First off super stoked that Brad has joined us. Hope he has a fantastic time running with us. As far as the race I cannot stand Interlagos, probably my least favorite track on the service, though I do hate it a little less after running it on Tuesday. Royally screwed quali, spun on my first out lap and got damage, had to reset. Set the first slow lap on cold tires, got off tracks on the next two, and then ran out of time up 7 tenths on the last lap. Started P16 and the first 3 laps were insane with so many cars on this track. Thank fully it was very clean. Was able to push through the field. Pit in P7 and was able to get to 6th. Got to 5ths bumper but couldn’t make the pass. Overall I’ll take the result, especially at this track.
  • Brad W – P8 (Sao Paulo-Interlagos) Got used up in the first few laps. First race with the league so I wanted to give plenty of room. Was able to battle back and get into the top 10. This pace is murder on the tires. Fronts were dead as the race was ending. No forward bite at all. Very competitive group, looking forward to the season.

Did you guys already cover this? Man check out that pricing. I’d be surprised if this is successful, but I wish them well.

https://simracersgroup.com/pricing/

Also, I wanted to share this tool if anyone is interested. I purchased my computer through Lenovo Advantage.

I was concerned about having the Intel i9 and the 4080 super similar to Brad so the computer builder recommended this free app that monitors all of the internal hardware temps.. I haven’t had any issues.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Echo Park Speedway

  • Tony -P2 this stupid track was pretty much a conga line whole race
  •  Avoided some wrecked and avoided leaders wrecking coming to the checkered for a silver trophy
  • Brad- P10 Led the second half of the race only to get right hooked from the lead with 8 laps to go. Protest was filed but it was the normal response, as expected.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Chicago

  • Brad- P3 Ran in p2 for the bulk of the race but as tires were getting sketchy I spun on the last lap and gave up p2. Much better managed race compared to the A Open I did.

Thursday Open- NiS – Chicago

  • Mike- P5– started his P8 had a pretty uneventful race. Had a lazy spin at one point with a little front end damage, but was able to keep it going only four cars on the lead lap and I finished P4. Second split out of three.
  • Chris – P took the pole but wrecked out on lap one as the leader

Sunday Open- NiS – Chicago

  • Greg -P7 type shit here dude 😛

Wednesday Open -NiS – Sonoma Raceway

  • David – P10  Ran mostly mistake free, though on the front stretch i Knocked my front cowl off.  2 laps down, not fast just stayed on the track.
  • Chris – Chris – P1 – Started practicing Sunday, studying the pros on YouTube, and shaved 5 seconds off my previous best time. Qualified P2. Dropped to P4 early, but battled back to the front. Took the lead before a mistake sent me off track and back to P2. On Lap 10, the leader slipped up—I pounced, retook the lead, and never looked back. Second career NiS win for the Waldron’s Furniture / iRacers Lounge / Premier Setups / Sim Wraps Chevy!
  • Brad- P20 Started p23 and never really had pace like I did in practice. This was top split so take it for what it’s worth. Not my favorite track regardless of the car. One and done for me as this helped cover for my horrible luck in the Daytona 500.

Thursday Open- NiS – Sonoma Raceway

  • Mike- P7-qualified 14th was able to keep it on the pavement basically raced fairly conservative and I was able to bring it home. P7 glad I took tires per Brad‘s instructions as the right front was down to 45%.

Official Series

6 Hrs at the Glen

  • David & Tom. – p4,  Wrecked out of first session on lap 8 unavoidable.  Started 11a session, wrecked out on lap 6 in a 30 car pileup coming out of the boot.  Realizing so many were taken out we stuck it out and came home 4th.  Not enough time to work all the way back up though we had the same pace as the leaders
  • Donnie, Justin, William & Brad – P9 – Had a rough start getting collected in a lap one wreck heading into the boot. Brad would spin the car getting into the bus stop after contact from the car he was passing. Would drive back up to p10 before turning the car over to Justin. Justin and Donnie did a great job keeping the car clean which allowed William to finish the race and drive from p12 to p9 over the last two hours of the race. Great job by everyone.
  • Justin, Chris , and Mike. Wrecked out early.

FIA F4 Americas

  • Mike – P started 20th out of 22 at spa and finish P 19 I kept breaking too late in the final backstretch. I finally figured it out.

M2

  • Ellis– P ran at the nord slife in the BMW M2. Start 15 out of 27 and end up finishing P 10. Great run.
    • Got wrecked out, running into another guy who wrecked
    • Then finally qualified, so it started second. But missed the corner ended up in the grass ended up coming back across the track and wrecking hard. DNF.
    • Qualified pole position. Got away from everybody and started a gap about halfway through the race. I had a 14 second lead when I made a mistake and went and killed the car meatball DNF.

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P Sunday night Bristol had 36 entries, but they decide to split it into the two races why it doesn’t make sense. There should be one split.  Worked my way forward to run as high as P3. There was a split tire strategy at the end. It wasn’t playing in my favor. I got wrecked for six place with eight minutes damage but it’s only two laps left. I was able to bring it home to finish P4. Great run.
    • Tuesday, New Hampshire. A true test of the new break holy cow. I have to stand on this thing to stop it. Was running top 10 on a restart. I was P6 in the single file restart and the leader is all stacked up in front of me. I didn’t see any of that we were already going. I drove underneath the guy in front of me as the guy behind me drove underneath me too much damage we’re done.
    • Tried the very next race qualified P6 out of 27. Got a big wreck at the halfway point but only about a minute and a half damage did not pit for fuel got into another incident later but was somehow able to finish P9.
    • Ran again Wednesday night. Qualified 4 out of 20. Quickly got to pee too, but eventually finished P5 after a couple of minor incidents.
    • Then switching to Homestead. Qualified nine out of 27. After a while, I was just riding two cars crash into each other down low on the front but the third one went high. I didn’t see the third one and me and another guy plowed him. DNF.
    • Q 6 out of 30 cars .. red top five pretty much most of the race at the end didn’t really have anything for the top two but was happy to bring it home with a podium finished to finish P3
    • Qualified nine out of 23 got my Way to the top three pretty quick there was a split strategy. I was conservative and got tires while making it a two stop race while others stayed out till well. Past halfway to make it a one stop race I ran it out of fuel near the end, leading up the most lapsstop for a splash and go, but all the people on the one stoppers got by me and I ended up coming out P9 and finishing P9.

A Open

  • Brad W – P14 Chicago- Top split and drove up to p5 but was really over driving the car which led to a bunch of damage. The final was wall contact in turn 2 after a car spun ahead of me and I tried to avoid. Ended up getting 6 minutes of damage fixed and soldiered to a 14th place finish.

IMSA

  • Brad W – P12 (Watkins-GT3) I’m just not very good at this track. Really struggling with qualifying on the cold tires. The Porshce is so unstable with light fuel, having to start towards the back makes a good finish hard. The race was rather uneventful, managed to keep it relatively clean and finish mid-pack.
    • P3 (Mosport) Started in the same spot. Had ok pace but never enough to catch p2. Single split madness, 23 GTP, 9 LMP2 and 10 lonely GT3s. Hardley had a minute of clear track.

GT Sprint Simucube Series

  • Brad – P10 (Spa) Started p13 and made my way up to p5 but was spun early on. Soldiered back to get to p8 but in a last lap battle I spun and fell back to P10.
  • William W – P3 0X – Had pace for P2 but didn’t push the issue due to PTSD from GT Endurance. Felt really good about Saturday after doing this race. Broke 2500

GT /IMSA  Conspit Endurance Series

  • William W – P30 – Impatience led to 2 incidents in the first 12 laps. Neither were really my fault, but put my car in bad positions and had people turn in on me. 3 min of damage from the second incident put me behind for the rest of the race. Got from 50 something to 30. +1 iRating.

League / Hosted Races

GTP/GT3 League

  • William W –  P4 – Off week between seasons so we did a Spa 24 practice race. 90 min. Ran in the front 3 nose to tail for about 50 min then hit the gas too hard coming out of 14. Half spun the car, no damage but lost 14 seconds. Was able to drive up to 4 seconds behind 2 and 3. Leader won by 12. Exceptional pace in this race, really excited for weekend and normally don’t like spa.

Hosted-

  • Ellis – Saturday night Chris McGuire hosted ran V8 supercars at Michigan started dead last and somehow someway finish P4 great run
    • Firecracker 400 qualified 18th out of 41 cars. Made it almost a half a lap before the leaders wreck and take out the entire field too much damage we’re done didn’t even finish one lap. It’s truly the fire crackers zero
    • Firecracker 400 fixed. Made it to lap 59 before I actually touch the apron got into a spin and the guy behind me. Finished me off nine minutes damage. DNF.

Things I wish I knew…

  1. Tame your FFB.
  2. Seat time beats tinkering.
  3. Don’t chase high end gear to early.
  4. Watch a Track Guide first.
  5. Mindset – Its just me versus the track, don’t fret about the other cars.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Pocono

  • Brad- P29 The race started fine and was in the front half for the bulk of the race. With about 30 to go someone decided to drive through me getting into turn 1, plain and simple. An apology goes a long way but did not get one.

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Pocono

  • Mike- P drove myself up to round P5 was just riding. There were a bunch of cautions behind us.  Lap 23 had some bonehead making weird moves and I went to the inside coming up on the front street well out of the way, but it was for wide and the guy on the outside got the wall and hit the other guys and they came down into me all three of us into the inside wall too much damage we are done

Wednesday Open -NiS – Echo Park Speedway

  • David – P6, one and done, this aint racin.  I just rode on the inside the whole race never made any moves.  Making moves usually resulted in guys getting wrecked.
  • Chris – P 4. The racing has been a mess on NiS. The red Waldron’s Furnitue/iRacers Lounge Chevy stayed safe in the back to let them wreck. With 15 cars left I made my move and finished P4. Side note I had lots of trouble pitting. The pits would open while the field was reforming and if I missed entry, the pits would close. Sitting P6 in points still in contention.
  • Brad- P18 I hate this type of racing! Qualified mid-pack and got collected in the first wreck on lap 1. Three minutes of damage and spent the rest of the race getting that fixed. Continued to get additional Xs from too many games being played on restarts and the normal phantom 4x had me at 16x at the GWC. Coming to the checkered sitting in p10 only to get hit by another car spinning off the nose of the guy beside me. That pushed me over the limit and dropped the finish to p18. The amount of stupidity that I have witnessed over the last two weeks on the oval side is ridiculous.

Thursday Open- NiS – Echo Park Speedway

  • Bobby – Pwrecked

Official Series

FIA F4 Americas

  • Mike – P start at 18th out of 22 at W Glenn drove her up to finish top 10 P 10. Very happy with that. It was quite a battle.

M2

  • Ellis – P8 at the motorsports Arena, Oscar Slaven qualified for out of 11 in the BMW, M2. Ended up jumping the star and I didn’t have my clutches mapped. Had to do a drive-through penalty finish P8.

Gen 4

  • Ellis – P wrecked out didn’t even get to the start finish line on the initial start. Some guy lost it and wrecked the entire field. I had seven minutes damage. Charlotte
    • Then Talladega there was a check up and got ran over from behind totally destroyed finished death laugh wrecked out
    • Next time Talladega qualified eight out of 24
    • Next night Charlotte qualified 14th out of 22. Got neck coated from about 10 feet away. Had over 10 minutes damage the worst net coat I’ve ever been a part of. Finish 21st.
    • My journey is complete. I finally arrived at bottom split car number one out of 20 qualified eight. we ended up on a split strategy at Charlotte. Me and another guy had tires and fuel. The other rest of them didn’t we got out front? I was running second I was about two laps. Short ended up hitting and getting rights and just flying through the field and come up on a slow car that couldn’t make up his mind what line he was in and I ran over the top of him still somehow someway I finish P9 out of 20.
    • Qualify 10 out of 21 at Charlotte. Wrecked out.
    • Monday night Bristol had a restart on lap 26 where we’re single file restart with without cars to the inside piece car is still on track track goes green pace. Car is still in front of the leaders for maybe a second and a half and then it just disappears off the screen it stays green so then we all kinda go and ever we could and it was awkward.  Eventually, I worked my way up to lead the race on some pit tire strategy differences let a few laps and then finish a very respectable P3.  So happy to have a decent finish and stop the bleeding.

A Open

  • Brad W – P28 Atlanta Screen froze on lap 8 for the entire backstretch. I pulled left to get out of traffic only to hit the inside wall. TOO MUCH DAMAGE, WERE DONE!

IMSA

  • Hall – P 2, finally snagged a podium
  • Ellis – P11 ran in the open at Watkins Glen start at 18th finish P 11…. 25 lap race kept my nose clean and it was a good practice event. Had a fast lap of a 1:47.82.
    • Ran again the next night started dead last P 25 drove up to P 16 before I spawn on the carousel didn’t hit anything go back to last and then drove up to finish P 13
  • Brad W – P8 (Motegi-GT3) I have to learn to drive on cold tires. Lost five spots over the first 3 laps while the tires came up to temp. From then on it was try to get positions back. Really frustrating race when you are so much faster than people and they just won’t give up a spot. We both lose time over the race. Too many games are being played getting into the corners.
    • P18 (Watkins-GT3) Was wrecked by someone driving way over their skill level. I think I only made it about 8 laps.
  • William W- P5. Started P8. Should have been a podium but almost killed myself twice. Luckily no damage. Driving the Ferrari to practice for the 6 hour and struggling a bit. Track is on fire and the front just wants to slide through a lot of the turns. Going to do a couple more to prepare for Saturday.

GT Sprint Simucube Series

  • Brad – P15 (Daytona) This was like Draftmasters, I knew I should not have joined but I did. Again, guys driving way over their skill level especially on cold tires. Lap 3 a guy loses it in the kink, I go into the grass to avoid but get hit in the left rear. I have wheel damage but soldiered on to the finish.
  • William W – P12. Daytona. 2nd split and there were some fast people here. Started P18. Still haven’t gotten the hang of qualifying and the first couple laps on this new tire. Way too tentative early and it cost some positions. Punting going into turn 1 on lap 2. Luckily was able to save it and only list about 4 spots, but had some aero damage that felt like I was dragging a rock on the straights. Felt really good with pace once the tires were warm after pit.

League / Hosted Races

Majors 24h Le Mans

  • Greg, Tom and David –  P2 –  Rain, Dry,  Fun.  Persistence and way fewer mistakes than most other cars.  Two insane wreck avoidances. Mine was the LMP2 leader got loose by him self going into Indy, I opted to take the escape road as I just instinctively new he was out of control and wasn’t going to make the left hand turn.  WIth 12 hours ago, we figured it was in the hands of others weather we would get back into a podium position, however over 6 hours we dropped a 9 minute gap to less that 1 lap to third.  Then a team had connection issues and just quit after they were out of third.  I was asleep with another 1 of the other teams had extreme difficulty in the rain.   This type of rain setting was perfect.  There was one session that was extremely wet.  During that time I was turning some of the faster laps among remaining GTP’s.  But he switching between wet and dry was fun, challenging and added strategy for a split that didn’t have safety cars.

Grass Roots Racing

MX5 League

  • William W- P4. Homestead Roval. Track is actually fun for Mazda’s. Draft is strong.

GTP/GT3 League

  • William W –  P3. This track is not fun for GT3. We tried something else and I was not a fan. Attendance was down because of track choice too. Hope to not come back here. Ran 4th for most of the time, P3 spun in front of me, got minor damage from that but was able to fix in pits. Not much passing here, rather boring race.

Hosted-

  • Ellis – ran the GT challenge fixed at Daytona spun on the first lap and was dead last 19th worked my way up to finish P9 lots of attrition
    • Jumped into a hosted 87’s at Talladega. The caution came out and I realized I haven’t mapped my new brake pedal correctly in the settings and I literally have no brakes so I have to crash the car into a wall just to escape from the car.
    • Ran the brand new advanced pro two off road trucks D class at wild West motorsports Park a new series. This is the only one left out of all the cars I own and tracks I own that I haven’t ran as of yet. Qualified second out of nine and finished P3.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Wednesday Open -NiS – Pocono

  • David – P wrecked, running well, but you can’t pass here, its just use pit strategy, so at some point i had to be back with the squirrels and i got squirreled
  • Brad- P5 Started p15 and hung around the top for the first half of the race. Way too many yellows but waiting till lap 35 to pit only to get dropped from the server during the cycle, lost a lap. Managed to get back in but lost a lap and then was collected in a wreck and had almost 3 minutes of damage to fix. Was able to get all but 45 seconds fixed and get back on the lead lap. Tried to gain some track position and stayed out under a yellow but would spin off T2 from the 5th spot. Went back to p16 and was able to avoid the carnage over the next 15 laps, 3 GWC to come home with a P5. (15 yellows and 47 caution laps) WE ARE BETTER THAN THIS!

Thursday Open- NiS – Pocono

  • Mike- P 20 had a pretty good run gone. I started in the pets and stayed in the back the first half the race basically but still got caught up in incident inside three minutes on 14 minutes on another just rode around and finished.
  • David – P 8, can only gain positions by strategy and restarts, its really just like the real thing now.  Used strategy to get up to p3.  Got caught in a leader wrecking, made it back up again with strategy to p8 and pretty much held that.  This isn’t racing.
  • Justin – P4 top split
  • Bobby – Pwrecked

Official Series

Gen 4

  • Ellis –car 20 out of 25 first race of the week. Talladega draft Masters definitely less horsepower in this package and I got wrecked out pretty bad running up the middle in a three wide four deep with a massive check up.
    • Then onto the regular series at Charlotte. Ran the tires off way too hard in the first run. Second run was a lot more gentle got up to run in as high as P5. Then I killed the wall but save the car. It fell back to 14th ended up finishing P 14 out of 28.
    • Next night ran Talladega again, ended up wrecked out
    • Then to Charlotte had a good run going but got wrecked out was able to finish though P 14
    • Next night, Talladega DraftMaster car 21 top split out of 24. Finished P2.
    • Then Charlotte ended up P5 great run. I was involved in three different cautions, but they were all racing incidents.  12 incidents.

A Open

  • Brad W – P17 Started p10 and ran in the front all race. Pitted around lap 25 and was good to go from there. Was running p8 on GWC when the car ahead started to loose it out of T1. I tried to check up but could not avoid him. Caught up and finished p17. (10 yellows and 31 laps under caution.) DO WE SEE A PATTERN HERE?

League / Hosted Races

Hosted-

  • Ellis – Gen 4 @Richmond qualified 12 out of 21
    • Gen 4 at Dover qualifying 13 out of 20

Friday Open – NiS – Michigan

  • Tony -P3 gawh Damn it. Ran different set and ran much better. Stayed in the top 10 majority of the race avoiding everything under the sun.  Took 2 came out 4th with 10 to go. Grabbed the lead lap and half later. Lost the lead til slipped out of 2 with 5 to go. Was right on his bumper waiting for the right moment to make a move but caution came out with 3 to go. Had 2 gwcs where restarting 2nd and the leader was playing the try to guess what speed im going before the restart zone. Oh well Im just never gonna win a race again. Bright side ir above 2200 for first time in a long time and sr is 0.04 from becoming a pro hahaha
  • Brad- P4 A tale of two races. Started p9 and would stay around the 14-15 for the first half of the race. The race was slowed seven times for yellows and most of those were from aggressive driving. About midway I got into the wall coming off T2 trying to avoid an accident and ended up with wheel damage. Was able to fix it but went to the rear. Over the remainder of the race I was able to work my way back through yellows and pit strategy. Was sitting P8 on final restart and was able to avoid an accident on the last lap, split two guys and race back to P4. A welcome finish after the last few weeks.
  • Kyle – P14 started P18 and just fought the tire wear.

Sunday Open- NiS – Michigan

  • David – P wrecked, got straight dumped, red card it is
  • Tony – P safe from seeing the dumb stupid ugly big hat in victory lane had a day at real MIS even got to try a motion rig from the Ford Display.
  • Greg -P7
  • Kyle – P13 Started P8 and just couldn’t find a good pace. Fell back to 19th and just held on as the tires were fading away. After a few cautions and a strategy to run a set of tires longer then most I pitted with 14 to go under caution and used the new tires to my advantage. Last lap picked of 5 cars to finish P13.

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Michigan

  • Mike- Phad a great run all night, gwc, p5 digging on the bottom, i get loose and lose it – wrecked finish p14.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Daytona Road

  • David – P ya screw this.  Not driving this car on this track again
  • Brad- P33 Started P16 and only made it 2 laps. Had a spinner in the trioval not hold his brakes and came back up into the track. Myself and the car behind me went high but could not avoid it. Too much damage, we’re done.

Thursday Open- NiS – Daytona Road

  • Mike- P14- started 15th got as high as seventh got cream from a guy from behind totally wiped out continued on ended up getting high centered on a turtle and had to toe came out like 20 second but after stops and pit cycling I moved up to 14th.

Had to fight all the way back up through the field of gt3 about 25 cars. Made it back up to 5th but was too far behind any more positions having to make that many passes.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Nashville

  • Tony -P4 decided to Mike Ellis it and show up with no practice all week with a few minutes to spare. It showed with a p22 qual. Raced smart avoiding the wrecks in 1st half. Last caution was with 78 laps to go and about 2/3rds the way realize it was probably staying green so started saving fuel. A few of the leaders had to pit with 3 to go and gained a few spots. Bonus was the asshole that wrecked me last weeks coke 600 was leading and ran out of gas with 2 to go. (Evil laugh)
  • Brad- P27 Another disaster of a race. Started p7 but was caught up in another accident not of my making. Worked to get damage fixed only to get collected again. This time the damage was too much, we’re done.
  • John – P22.  Got wrecked. Was running in the top 10 when a guy tried to pass under me in turn 1. He did not have enough room to make the pass, so instead of braking he decided to just take me out. Impatience of drivers like that guy is what is killing NIS. Oh well, I have a good memory. Car was junk after that. By the time repairs were done I was 13 laps down.

Sunday Open- NiS – Nashville

  • David – P2,  started of stretching fuel to make a 1 stop race, but caution comes out, so everyone gets back even i’m around 13th.  Hanging around that spot until late race caution 20 laps to go, take 2, p6.  I survive a lot of carnage at the front, and the leader on the last restart had to serve a penalty for bad restart.  If i’d known might have gotten in a better position.  But was having a tracking issue with pimax since the last patch, and the horison was bouncing of line and back, making it really hard to precisely drive the outside line.  So on the last lap i coudln’t really fight.
  • Tony – P7 had a great long run car again but late race restart wasn’t good for me
  • Greg -P7

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Nashville

  • Mike- P started 28th drove up to eighth by lap 35 but then got destroyed by some loser couldn’t miss it. Seven minutes damage rode around for quite a while trying to stay on the lead lap and get it fixed, but got destroyed again and some other incident too much damage were done.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Michigan

  • David – P14, caught in an early wreck from a 4 wide in front of me.  5 minutes of damage, but enough cautions got it all fixed, then flipped to the front on tire strategy.  Was terrible on restarts though and fell to 14th.
  • Tony – P17 ever get excited for something and than it ended up being one of the worse experiences you ever had? Welp that was me whole race and I wasnt even wrecked. Either I wasn’t driving the set right or it was just a miss for me. I still love my track in the Irish Hills. Il be hanging out in my usual spot T1 with my camera glued to my face
  • Brad- P10 Started p8 and was keeping up with the top group. After a restart I was taken 4 wide off turn 2 and I bobbled and with no room for error, I bounced off the car inside, spun and collected teammate David. From then on it was a fight to get damage fixed. Made the mistake of pitting early before pits were open figuring I would get the EOLL penalty. I did this in order to get two trips down pit road. Coming down the second time I was flagged for passing under yellow. Ended up with a 11 second hold and lost a lap. Managed to get the lap back and repairs made to fight back to the front. Very happy with the finish after the challenging race that it was.

Thursday Open- NiS – Michigan

  • Mike- P riding around 20th at lap nine when they wreck up ahead of me they’re reckon down low and up high. I get through the middle but ran over from the guy behind me. He right rears me hard into the wall blows the engine.
  • David – P Wrecked, don’t like this style of track

Official Series

Draft Master

  • Kyle -Top Split Daytona B Car P1 by half a car. Started P5 and just shuffled back to P10 until the big one on lap 8 happened going into 3 and it was a sketchy moment. Locked bumpers with P4 and worked with him to make up a 2 second gap to the top 3. We run them down and coming to the white P1 makes a bad block to the high lane and gets sent to the infield collecting 2 more cars and I slide up to P2. stayed on the leaders bumper until P3 was knocking on my bumper and we went high going into turn 3 where I was able to squeak out a win. 2nd oval win this week. Feeling pretty good with 2 wins in the bag this week and this race having a 0 ”x” each. I have now set my Highest iRating of 2823 since joining in April 2020.

A Open

  • Brad W – P14 and p15 (Michigan) Missed the gearing on the first A open. Got collected in a wreck fought back to p14. Second race had the gear in the set much better but was collected in another 3 wide wreck. Damaged and struggled for pace after getting most of it fixed.

GT Sprint Simucube Series

  • Brad – P18 (Monza-Rain) I like this track but it does not like me. I avoided much of the lap 1 and 2 carnage and made my way up to p10 only to get collected in a stack up that caused quite a bit of nose damage. Kept racing to try and avoid the SR loss.

Indycar iRacing Series

  • Kyle P- P1 at Auto Club. Started P13 and just picked off cars 1 by 1 and battled for the lead. Led 6 laps but unfortunately I got this win the way I didn’t want to get it. 3 to go we are about to hit turn 1 and I go to squeeze the gap between P1 and P2 for a 3 wide run when P2 drops down to block and I bump P1 and that takes out P1 and P2 and hands me the win under caution.

League / Hosted Races

Majors Series – leman 2.4

  • David – P9, on the last lap running p7, leap frogged tom and was holding him off.  On last lap at the end of the mulson straight we caught a lmp2 and he was far enough ahead he didn’t have to yield to us.  Probably could have if he was paying attention to a 4 car fight and he wasn’t in one, but i was unable to get a good exit and tom got beside going into Indy, then i just missed a turn and go off the track and fall to 9th.
  • Tom D – P6

Hosted-

  • Ellis – Indy car series fixed started P1 out of 14 finished P6.
    • Rein Meister at RuddsCogan in the GT three. Wreck out.
    • IndyCar at Daytona in hosted started 45 out of 60
    • Indy car fixed at Detroit qualified 11 out of 15. P8 no incident. Dean .12 got me to 3.5. This concludes my fourth mpr race at level B and so when week 13 comes, I will be promoted to class a formula.
    • Posted 87’s at Talladega started 40th at a 45. Wrecked out twice.
    • Then trucks at Talladega hosted start a 32nd out of 45
    • The fat attack GT3 challenge fish at the ring with the stadium qualified six out of 18. Pitch black can’t see it all no driving line. I wrecked out on lap one about halfway through the lap seven minutes damage I parked it.
