Results

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – NiS – Talladega

  • Tony -P18 got the annual Tony-dega pole but decided to fall to the back from the pack was way to aggressively squirrely. Smart choice. Avoided a few big ones. 3 gwcs and got shoved out 10th on the final restart. I am the kyle busch of the Tifosi cup.
  • Brad- P12 – A normal iRacing super speedway race. Guys driving like idiots and yelling all kinds of obscenities at each other. Collected in multiple accidents from people driving over their heads. Worst was a driver 22 laps down that had to be in the front group and just turned across a lead lap car and I ended up with 7 minutes of damage. Limped around through the GWC and gained a bunch of spots.

Sunday Open- NiS – Talladega

  • Justin – P wrecked out
  • Tony – P31 pole again led some laps stayed out of trouble. Green flag stop and the brakes in this stupid car caused me too fast for entering while in first. And also slid in box but while serving penalty caution came out so worked out ok restarted 12th but got pushed out side of the line to end of pack. Few laps later while in line cars in front checked up i went to the right to avoid and got hit and sent into the wall ending my day
  • Tom – P wrecked out

Sunday Fixed- NiS – Talladega

  • Mike- Pdnf. Wrecked out on lap 74 came together with the guy on the outside Lane. I was on the inside. I went a little high. He went way low. We touched nine minutes damage I’m done.

Wednesday Open -NiS – Texas

  • Tony – P3 with my homestate hero finally getting his first cup i told the team if Carson got the win i would switch to a Chevy and seemed to work out well. Started 12th but stayed in top 10 all race. Caution with 15 to go did the 10 to go pit adjustments from PRS setup notes and restarted 1st lead laps til 2nd dive bombed me in 1 and got me out of my line and just couldn’t regain the lead. Setup was good on a longer run if we could actually get 1
  • David – P25, didn’t have speed, but was going to finish top 20 but a driver that chris warned me about came up across the guy in front of me’s nose and of course no where to go.  One step closer to a major decision.

Thursday Open- NiS – Texas

  • Mike- P6- pretty  uneventful race car was fast. I had a few moments where I almost spun out, but was able to keep it underneath me with a ton of focus and finish for a nice top 10.
  • Tony – P7 same as Wednesday night fast. Led green flag laps but middle of race got sandwiched into the wall causing a minute and half damage which was fixed. Made my way back through the field while actually having fun. Late race run over drove out of 4 and walled myself knocking the toe out while in 4th with 3 to go and fell to 8th for the checkered. Checked result later and a driver got DQ’ed and gained a spot

Official Series

Production car challenge

  • Ellis – P 14 Nürburgring- Toyota GR 86 had a couple of incidents and finished P 14

IMSA

  • Brad W – P9 (Imola) Finally got a chance to run one on Sunday. Even though there was a chance of rain all week, every result I checked was dry. Of course I load in and it’s pouring. The track was 67% wet with rain around 25%. So glad that I ran the GRR race on Tuesday as that prepped me for racing in the rain. Only had one real oops moment but managed to avoid a bunch of spinners at different times. Was running p11-12 most of the race but grabbed a few stops after the pitstop.
  • William –  P18. Messed up 2nd quali lap and started P18. Finished P18. My car was just a punching bag for other cars the whole race. 8x from getting driven into by P2s early in the race plus some off tracks put me on 13 by the last 4 laps. Then a slow guy who caused an incident with another car 2 laps prior drives into me on the last lap giving me the drive through that I couldn’t serve. Miserable race. A little bit my fault for messing qualifying, but man not much I could do about the rest of it.
    • P10 – Decent race finally, first time I’ve seen green IR in a bit. Top split, and this was a high SOF. Was little slow in quali, but not as bad as before. Little difficulty with traffic, but decent race considering what I’ve been going through.

DTM

  • William- P Lastish. Not sure where I actually finished. Before I started practicing for this I actually hated RBR, but now I really don’t mind it, might even like it. I’ve been running multiclass for so long I forgot how competitive single series GT3 can be. 2nd split of 14. Qualified about 8th, got to 6th from some deaths, and then the top 9 or so ran within 2 seconds of each other for the next 13 laps. On lap 13 a Porsche that I had gotten by got a run to going towards turn two and went to my outside. Going into the braking zone he bodyslams me and I go for a ride through the turn taking out 4th place with me. When it happened I thought I could have given him more room, but i’ve watched it several times since then and I don’t feel like I did anything wrong. He either lost it on the curb, or is just a terrible driver/intentional, but still. Was 2 laps down after the tow, so just parked it. At least I didn’t do this one to myself.

League / Hosted Races

Grass Roots Racing

GTP/GT3 League – Laguna Seca Endurance Race

  • William W –  P9 – Self sabotage once again. Enduro race here. Qualified 6th which was about 2 places behind where I thought I was going to. Got to 4th early and ran close to 2nd and 3rd for the first stint, gained both those spots in the pits. Was running in 2nd after about 3 seconds clear of third when just went wide in the turn before the kink. Lost the rear and car went hard into the wall.

Hosted-

  • Ellis – P      Chris McGuire hosted trucks at Michigan add green flag stops, but I got a black flag on it exit so quit
    • Car of tomorrow at Talladega there was a wreck. One of the hosts accused me of being the wrecker when I wasn’t and it was a little awkward and I ended up quitting.
    • Then BMW M2’s at Daytona oval, we didn’t make it even a lap wrecked out
