NASCAR Winter iRacing Series

Friday open – Winter NiS – Charlotte

  • Mike- P DNF didnā€™t load the correct set so I had to pit for fuel on lap two but was able to get a lucky dog and get my track position back started off pretty quick worked my way up to around seventh then got dumped from a guy from behind in the middle of the corner 2 1/2 minutes damage. After that, it kind of went downhill and I ended up spitting out on my own and rage quitting.
  • Justin – P got spun into Pitt Road and DNF

Wednesday open – Winter NiS – Indy

  • Mike- P wrecked out with five to go. I just hit it for a little bit of fuel splashing go with no tires, but couldnā€™t get the car to turn and killed the wall and blew the engine. Before that on lap eight got dumped down into the pit road with a 42nd hole with a lap down was able to recover clear up to leading the race before I wrecked running 17.

GT4/SPorts Car Challenge

  • Donnie S – GT4 – Race 1, Q2 with a P4.  Race 2 Q7 with a P2
    • Sportscar Challenge – Race 1 Q2 with a P2.  Race 2 Q5 with a P6.  100% Rain.

A productive week 1.  A couple podiums and top 3 in points in both series. 

FIA F4 

  • Ellis– P7- 1st race of the new season at Laguna Seca started 13th and made my way up to finish seventh
    • P 11 got wrecked on somebody going side-by-side with me up the hill on lap one had to get repairs was dead last 24th ended up driving back up to finish P 11

IMSA

  • Hall – Three consecutive p2ā€™s  
  • Brad W – P3 after starting p3. Gave up a few spots on opening laps in the rain. Was surprised that so many guys started on dry tires. They pitted within a few laps. Kept it clean and finished with 0 xā€™s.


League / Hosted Races

Majors Series 12h Blackout- 

  • Tom, Greg, David – P7 – Super happy with this result considering we were the slowest qualifier in the GTP field.  Once the rain came we not only were better at staying on the track, our speed equalized with a lot of the field.  We got meatballs twice due to unavoidable situations.  One of them we only lost one lap as the incident also brought out the caution.  I really liked this format where A car needing to be towed is the catalyst for full course cautions.  It was balanced and organic rather than random like weā€™ve done in the past.

Hosted- 

  • Ellis – ran pick up cop at Charlotte got wrecked out
    • Ferrari got Nurburgring in the rain started fourth finished P5. Actually didnā€™t finish. I wrecked out somewhere on lap two but was the last car left on the track out of 21
    • FF 1600 @Limerock kept spinning off turn one finished almost dead last
    • Car of tomorrow at Talladega finish P3
    • BMW at Alton Park circuit. Some kind of Internet issue and I mustā€™ve blinked out on the start because the guy behind me drove through me like ghosted through me and I got wrecked off and not but 10 seconds later I got disconnected from the server due to throughput.

Polar Series – Watkins Glen

  • Mike – P14. Got what I deserve basically didnā€™t go off track really much 
  • Greg – P2
  • Brad W – P7 Finished about where I should have. After not getting a finish during NiS this was a nice finish.
  • Chris – P21
  • Donnie Spiker – P17

  • David hall – wrecked out

NASCAR Winter iRacing Series

FridayFixed – Winter NiS – Martinsville

  • Mike- P6- ended up getting a passing under yellow because I was being a dumb ass and it was a 26 second hold penalty so I lost two laughs was able to get lucky dogs and get them back then Justin had a computer problem and I got a penalty for passing to the left before the start finish because he ended up in the wall right in front of me I got another lucky dog to get back from that and then later I get another passing to the left on a restart from a dumbass move I made because somebody was slow in front of me and got another lucky dog after that so worked my way up from dead last to finish P6 by staying out the last 70 laps or so
  • Justin – P DNF

Wednesday open – Winter NiS – Charlotte

  • Mike- P DNF. Spun out on my own and turn one three or four times eventually wrecked it where I couldnā€™t continue near the end DNF.

Official Series

FIA F4 

  • Ellis – P 13 at Virginia third attempt qualified 16th got dumped from being side-by-side with somebody and he knocked me off the track on the first lap fell way back and made my way up to finish P 13

League / Hosted Races

Hosted- 

  • Ellis -ran the new BMW at Oulton Park wrecked out on the first lap, but finish the race fun little car
    • Toyotaā€˜s GR 86 @live rock in the rain qualified P2. Wrexked out 
    • Then ran several other races at the BMW at Oulton Park. Never finished.
    • On Tuesday, Iā€™ve started fifth finish second
    • Next race got the pole position, pulled away for a 16 second lead and took the win !! Winner winner chicken dinner first win in this car! 

Polar Series – Chicagoland Speedway

  • Mike – P19. Caution free. I got what I deserved, not a fun race car that was super tight. It was just enough laps to make a one stop strategy for most cars.
  • Justin – P6, disappointed i should have had a p2
  • Brad W – P21 Really struggled to keep the tires under me. Blew a RF three laps before halfway. Spent the rest of the race trying to save fuel. Ran out on backstretch after taking the white flag.
  • Chris – P  14 – Went with the 1 Pit Stop stragity. Gained 7 spots from where I started. I enjoy Chicagoland in the A car. Not a bad night. 
  • Donnie Spiker – P20

RFK Holiday Showdown

  • Brad W – P15 Started p30 and had to survive the first two stages. Because of no yellows, there was a spin early on that broke the field up and I lost a lot of time. Second stage started and I was able to make my way up to p20 till getting fenced on the front stretch battling 3 and 4 wide. Caught a yellow before the last stage and was able to get the damage fixed. Drove up into the top 20 and with a late race restart, avoided the carnage and grabbed a p15. Was sitting really good on GWC with cars ahead staying out on old tires but had to avoid a mess coming off T2 on restart and dropped spots to avoid an accident. Finished better than I did last year.

“Winter” NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open – Winter NiS – Phoenix [Legacy]

  • Mike – Pdnf– ran about 25th most of the night in tops split minding my own business as we get to about 40 to go. I start racing get up to around 20th. They wreck up ahead of me. I canā€™t miss it. I get totally destroyed knocked the whole right front off the car
  • Justin-  P wrecked out

Saturday Fixed – Winter NiS – Phoenix [Legacy] 

  • David – P18, running 5th near end, a 14 lapd down car wrecks another lap car into me on a restart, but of course iracing doesnā€™t allow you to protest stupid, you can only protest saying stupid.

Sunday fixed – Winter NiS – Phoenix [Legacy]

  • David – P wrecked, unavoidable stack up

Wednesday Open – Winter NiS – Darlington

  • Mike- P 12 had a horrible first run came in with no practice. I kept spinning the car and falling to the back eventually I was one lap down when the one caution came out and I got the lucky dog restarted dead last was able to work my way up to finish finally P 12 in top split
  • Justin – P9

Thursday Open – Winter NiS – Darlington

  • Mike- P5- had a great run going got as high as leading laps ran second for a while. There were only two cautions early on the rest of it green flag.  I short pitted from fourth on the final stop was in a good position, but hit the wall too hard had wheel damage struggled for a while, but was able to get it back under me and drive it up to finish P5.

Thursday Fixed – Winter NiS – Darlington

  • David – P5,  ran top 5 all night, should have been 2nd or 3rd but a late caution put us on a 4 lap run, and I just didnā€™t have short run speed.

FridayFixed – Winter NiS – Darlington

  • Mike- p2- had an absolutely great run in The Top Split, ran top five most of the night and ran second behind the leader who has an 8200 rating on the final restart. I was fifth going into the White. A couple got collected and I was able to sneak through and get P2. 205 championship points I think is my highest Iā€™ve ever gotten in any race.
  • Justin – P wrecked out in the first caution DNF

Sunday fixed- Winter NiS – Darlington

  • Mike- dnf. Got ran over in the middle of the corner from behind and dumped basically with no apologies. I was the first caution about five minutes’ damage didnā€™t wanna run around so I parked it.

  • Mike- p13 top split got about what I deserved. I spun twice on my own.
  • Justin – P6

Thursday open- Winter NiS – Martinsville

  • Mike- dnf. Right after the start two guys had a B right in front of me they ended up wrecking each other under yellow after the next restart. The one guy who was badly damaged heavily his left front wasnā€™t even spinning and he was out on the track and he was right in the middle and I went to go around him and I was way too high and slammed the wall. Nine minutes damage the way Iā€™m gonna run it out so I quit.  

Official Series

FIA F4 

  • Ellis– P10- qualified second was able to take the lead and was swapping the lead back-and-forth with another guy. He eventually ran me off the road I had to pit for damage finished P 10.
    • Qualified second in the rain spot off on my own ended up finishing third
  • Laguna Seca first attempt didnā€™t qualify well and it got wrecked out on that four went on to finish 17th
    • Second attempt qualified, 10th got the eighth at the end of lap one and eventually worked my way up to finish P5. Top split 118 championship points.
  • Next week, Virginia first start of the week started. P7 got as high as P5 and ends up finishing P6.
    • Qualified 17 top split got up to seventh then got ran over from behind fell back and finished P 14

A Open

  • Brad W – P3 (Auto Club) Started p5 and ran in top 10 all the race. We had a caution at lap 20 and went green from there till the end. Had to back off and save fuel but managed to save enough for a p3. Really had to be disciplined with lap times. I loved it.

IMSA

  • Hall – Quite a Few Podiums at Road America and Monza.  Currently sitting 2nd in points, not likely to catch the leader. 
  • Brad W – P4 (GTD Monza) I attempted four starts and only finished 1. Race three was the most complete but was wrecked out while taking the lead with 2 minutes to go by a GTP taking p2 and myself three wide on the front stretch.
    • P4 (GTD Daytona) Avoided most of the first lap drama and settled into a good rhythm. Kept the car clean with only a few tire drops in LeMans Chicane. Finished about where I should have.

Hosted- 

  • Ellis – Chris McGuire hosted ended up winning in the Pro Mazda at Michigan winner winner chicken dinner came from the back of the pack all the way to win it
    • Supercars at Michigan wrecked out
    • Car tomorrow at Talladega came from the back to the front got wrecked out
    • Ran pick up cup at Charlotte got wrecked out in the first turn
    • Running 87 at Talladega hosted
    • Running GEN five at Talladega started at 18th ended up getting the lead on the white but ran out of gas coming to the line and finish third

League / Hosted Races

Polar Series – Atlanta [Legacy]

  • Mike – P18- no cautions did a two stop strategy where I Short pit. Some of the guys I was 17th going into the stops ended up 17th coming out. I was just passing the leader on the White and they gave me the checker. I thought it was over and let up and then they gave me the white and one more guy got by me so I was P 18 about what I deserved.
  • Justin – P7
  • Greg – P23- wheel damage
  • Brad W – P16 Started on the front row and jumped out to an early lead. Ran too hard to start and had a few incidents where I got the car very squirrely. Decided to try a two stop race and thought it would work but did not. Had to try something different.
  • Chris – P wrecked out P 27
  • Donnie Spiker – P21
  • David Waldron – P24

Polar Series – Dover

  • Mike – P9– we had three cautions fairly early then green flag after that I basically ran the right front off until I blew a tire pitted with about 30 to go. I drove back up to P9 for about 15.
  • Justin – P4
  • Chris – P11. Blew a tire with around 30 to go after running in top 10. Missed the pits drove around and got into pits. Got 4 fresh tries and drove back up to 11th from 20th.

Friday Open – Winter NiS – Daytona

  • Mike – P wrecked out. Lost it it on my own.

  • John -P15, I really messed up this race. Got hit by other drivers twice, but I banged the wall twice on my own for no good reason. Required repairs put me 16 laps down. WNIS though is a great series and a great one to run in the off season. But boy oh boy I gotta do better than this. 

Sunday fixed – Winter NiS – Daytona

  • Mike- P  15- had a great race going, was leading on the final pitch stop under green, got sideways coming into pit road, nosed it into the wall, then reversed a bit to get turned around and ran into somebody like a fool. Totally embarrassed that I gave up my win and that I backed into somebody and ruined them as well.
  • Justin – P8
  • John – P4. The state of race craft is sad. Started P15. I passed only one car  that was on the lead lap under green flag conditions the whole race but gained 11 spots. It was all due to attrition.  I rode around the back the whole race to avoid the nonsense. It worked.  Iā€™m very happy with a top 5, but itā€™s kind of sad I got there without ever having to race. In any event, I love the 87. Itā€™s a blast to drive. 
  • David – wrecked out, caught in first big one, managed to keep on lead lap through two yellows, everything fixed with 10 to go, started p10, car wouldnā€™t go into 3rd gear.

Wednesday Open – Winter NiS – Phoenix[Legacy]

  • Mike- P15- ran as high as P7 but spun out on my own coming off for two different times to embarrass myself. Not happy with how I ran.
  • Justin – P 8

Thursday Open – Winter NiS – Phoenix[Legacy]

  • Mike- P 15 another horrible race where I spun out twice on my own I am just a mess out here ended up with a drive-through penalty on the green white checker

Official Series

FIA F4 

  • Ellis– P Rd., America in the wet could not qualify without wrecking. Only two people got
    • Laps. Iā€™m gonna be 11th. Got up to as high as fourth but eventually spun off on my own had to pull into the pit for repair came out 10th worked my way back up to finish P7.
    • Qualified 12 and finish P 10 dry race

B Open

  • John – P16. Got taken out early by guys who canā€™t handle cold tires at Dover and who want to win on lap one. But, this is the state of race craft. Sometimes drivers have to realize itā€™s okay to give up a spot instead of pushing too hard and wrecking. Oh well, onward I go.

IMSA 

  • Brad W – P wrecked (GTD-Road America) Started on pole but gave up lead after 4 laps. Has settled into p3 only to get taken out by a very impatient GTP in the Hurry Down section.
    • P7 after starting p4. Rear ended p3 getting into T2 and the car was a pig the rest of the race because of damage. Tried my best to be competitive but was .7 to a second off of pace from damage.

League / Hosted Races

Hosted- 

  • Ellis – old Indy car at new Charlotte with 59 drivers in the grid got myself up to as high as P2 before being wrecked out
    • 87 de Talladega wrecked out

Polar Series – Daytona

  • Mike – P3. We had a great race working together at one point we had four cars make a sudden move from the top to the bottom so we could line up and we basically took control of the race for the first 2/3 of the race we lost the lead somehow on the last stop we got caught up in a pack that was dragging us down, but we eventually caught the leaders, and I was able to find a way to get to the outside behind a guy and I basically pushed him to the wind. I was hoping to get around him, but I lost Justin on the last lap but nonetheless a great finish we dominated the race up until that point and Iā€™m super proud of the showing in a caution free race.

  • Greg – P7
  • Brad W – P15 Thought we played the right strategy but in the end we did not. Was tucked up behind Justin P the whole race until a huge check up caused me to lose the draft and I fell back. 
  • Chris – P 22
  • Donnie Spiker – P 23

  • McKenzie Stephens – P 29

  • John Kerley – P 35.Made two rookie mistakes. Speeding in pits on first stop resulted in a 40 second hold. Second pit stop I spun out on the apron in turn 1. Decided to quit on about lap 70. Not a rage quit, but figured there was no reason to keep going and get in other peopleā€™s way. Did enjoy running in a four man draft for a while with team mates Ellis, Wrenn and Pearson. This is not a series you can make mistakes in; too many great drivers. Iā€™ll keep running.

NASCAR iRacing Series

Friday Open –  Homestead

  • Mike – P17- tried to do a one stop strategy but a yellow came out and ruined it. I had to take a wave around I was 30th somehow after that I was able to cycle back up to around seventh was running seventh on a restart with five to go and got a guy dived down to the inside. I gave him room and he still door me to the wall and I fell back to finish P 17.
  • Brad – P19 Better than the prior race but was on the wrong pit strategy and got shuffled towards the end. 
  • Chris W – P 14. Tough track. Race was caution free for the first half. Second half the yellow came out frequently. Was involved in a spin with less than 30 to go. After a quick minor repair and tires I was able to go from 28th to 14th.

Sunday Open –  Homestead

  • Tony – P2 only had 2 cautions and speed on long runs. Ran green last 70ish laps with Green Flag stops. Pitted 6th but cycled to 2nd with 12 to go and just couldn’t gain anything on leader who kept his 6 second gap til the end. Feels good to have a good finish for the first time in forever.

Wednesday Open – Martinsville

  • Mike- P2 – riding around with 22 incidents none of which were mine. I was able to keep it clean and brought it home right behind my teammate Tom, who took the win very happy with this result.
  • Tom – P1 WINNER
  • Brad W – P Quit before I was DQā€™d. Horrible race. 
  • Tony P16- was dq’ed out after catching just about every single 37 cautions. Thats 177 laps under caution we averaged 2.2 laps of green flag racing. What in the absolute cluster. Not just my split but every split had at least 20 cautions. Its not hard to drive this track 
  • Chris W – P 18. Not sure what I can say. Stayed safe most the race. Car felt fast. Then at the end I was involved in everything. P18 after getting pass through on GWC.

Thursday Open – Martinsville 

  • Mike- P car 27 in top split out of 32. Finish P 14.  

Friday Open –  Martinsville

  • Brad – P2 Someone must have been DQā€™d because I finished p3. Martinsville did not disappoint as we only had 101 green flag laps.

Wednesday Open – Phoenix

  • Brad W – P35. Caused the first caution by hitting the car ahead of me on lap 1. Ended getting hit by about 5 cars afterward. Gor damage fixed enough to turn enough laps not to finish last. Bone head move on my part.
  • Tony P9 13 cautions couldn’t get anything longer than 5 laps Ā¾ of the race. Got some wheel damage when making my way past a wrecked car under caution and some asshole arca brakes that wrecked car and gets us both. Did have like a 20 lap run at the end where the damage Made me tight. I hate that stupid ass apron/dog leg hope it dies 

Official Series

FIA F4 

  • Ellis– P11 out of 14 at Barber motorsports Park qualified 10 got ran over from behind big-time with a meatball came out dead. Last worked my way back up to finish P 11.
    • Second temp qualified fifth got side-by-side with a guy on lap two he didnā€™t realize I was there and ran us to the wall. Had to tow finished P 17.
    • Third attempt qualified fast with running third finally it was working out, but then I spun off the track onto my own into the wall. Had to get repaired came from dead last all the way back up to finish seventh this is my best run of so far.
    • Fourth attempt finished P8 with 69 points after getting ran over from behind on lap four.

B Open

  • Brad W – P19 (Phoenix) after starting p10. Had a guy run me into the wall on lap 4. Fought back for the next 50 laps to get damage fixed and get back on the lead lap. Drove back up to p12 only to get destroyed from a blocked track on GWC.

IMSA

  • Brad – P3 (GTD Interlagos) Had a very good battle for P2 as the laps were winding down but GTPs that were not in contention to advance their position ruined a great battle.

League / Hosted Races

Hosted- 

  • Ellis – pick up cup at old Daytona P2. Almost wanted it down through the grass coming to the checker.
    • Old Indy car at Charlotte finished P4
    • Cara tomorrow at Talladega wrecked out
    • Supercars at Michigan finish P3
    • Trucks at Talladega wrecked out. We had a bizarre flag issue where the flag man put the white out. Then he displayed the checkered for the end of the race, but he withdrew the checker quickly and switched back to White and waited one more lap and then through the checkered for a second time.
    • Street stocks at Talladega wrecked out
    • Cora. Tomorrow at Talladega had a good run but eventually wrecked out.
    • Supercars at Michigan took the pole position. Eventually wrecked out.
    • Dalara IRO one at Indy wrecked out
    • Dalara dashā€“ at Talladega twice wrecked out
    • Pick up cop at old Charlotte wrecked out

Friday Open –  Las Vegas

  • Mike – P 5- came from the back a couple times and had a green flag stop that went really well pitted from fourth came out fourth after it cycled and ended up finishing fifth hoping for a late caution, but didnā€™t get one to try to race for the win. Also had the fastest lap of the race.  
  • Tyler -P 12
  • Tony -P wrecked out not even-20 laps in and wrecking in front of me had it just about clear and wrecked car went left into my car ending my night
  • Tom- P27
  • Brad – P7 Started p3 and was around the front most of the race. Led 21 laps but the car fell off on the long run. Did not have the short run speed but glad to grab a top 10.

Sunday Open –  Las Vegas

  • Tony – P 24 self spun and got clipped about 5 seconds after the yellow came out got stuck a lap down. My irating is now lowest it’s been in a few years 1700 :/ 
  • Greg –P pit crew would not service the car

Sunday Fixed –  Las Vegas

  • Mike- P22– was running top 10 or so as high as second on the longer run. I got loose, went through the grass, came back to 15th and decided to short pit on a green flag run. It didnā€™t work out. Some of those people were able to save up to four laps of fuel I finished a lap down

Wednesday Open – Homestead

  • Mike- P 22– ran the tires off. The first run went from 202nd to 11th and faded back to 22nd. Then we had a long green flag run. Having to save fuel the whole run peddling the whole way finished P 22.
  • Tom – P2. 
  • Brad W – P WRECKED – Never made a lap.
  • Chris W – P 34. Got wrecked early when a car ahead got loose. I thought they saved it and I passed highā€¦ only they didnā€™t save it and put me in the wall. 5 min of repairs and limped around 13 laps down.

Thursday Open – Homestead 

  • Mike- P13- did a little bit better than last night on saving tires. There was no fuel strategy involved. We had a late caution after running 15th near the end on that restart. I actually spun out on my own, put me back to the end on the next restart I was able to drive up through there to get to 13th. Iā€™ll take it, not a fan of this track.

  • Ellis– P Canadian tire motorsport. First attempt was running P5 and spun the car on my own finished P 13.
    • Second attempt qualified second  quickly, took the lead, but wandered it by spinning on my own to dead last drove myself back up to P7, but ran out of incident points on the White and D Q out
    • Started sixth made a move on a guy on lap one got side-by-side he ran to the grass took me out. I had to tow came back out 22nd worked my way back up to finish P 14.
    • Fourth attempt qualified ninth got past last one tried to make a move on P8 and he ran me wide and we both wrecked DNF

IMSA

  • Brad – P7(GTD-Road Atlanta) I finished about where I should have. I love this track but I am extremely inconsistent in my lap times. Not sure why but have always struggled here.

Friday Open – Phoenix

  • Mike – P16 – got involved in a lot of wrecks over 4 minutes damage – just surviving basicallyā€¦
  • John -P27 Got wrecked early. Had over 5 minutes of required repairs.  Got wrecked by same guy two weeks in a row. Never recovered.
  • Justin-  Pitted w 2 to go and no one else pitted – p23
  • Brad – P25 Started p2 car got loose cutting dog leg on lap 2. Fell back to mid pack only to get wrecked. Lost 7 laps getting damage fixed. Stayed till the end because it was the last race. Fellowship on Discord was much better than the racing.
  • Chris W – P18

Sunday Fixed – Phoenix

  • Mike- Pdnf. Was running second with about nine to go on a restart and got taken out from behind DNF.

Wednesday Open – Winter NiS – Daytona

  • Mike- P was the first caution they stacked up a little I got ran over from behind 11 minutes. Damage continued on for a bit ended up getting into another wreck that blew the engine.  Dnf. 
  • Justin – P wrecked out
  • Tyler – P wrecked out

FIA F4 

  • Ellis– P10– started at ninth got my way up to fourth. I see a guy coming. He was super fast. I let him go and fall the fifth shortly after he goes over the curbs turns his car sideways and I T-bone him. I have to pit for repair. I come back out 12th and drive it back up to finish P 10.
    • Top split started 16th got to the ninth after lap one held it until the end when a guy tried to pass me on the second to last corner and basically drove me off. The track ended up P 15. 
    • Third attempt car number one had a bad qualifying start at 18th got to the highest 10th but then got racing a guy and got ran off the road go back to 18th and then recovered back up to finish P 13th
    • Onto the next week at Detroit Belle Isle. First attempt ended up, wrecked out, not a fan of this track. Thereā€™s no runoff anywhere.
    • Second attempt qualified, fifth top split and finished P5 great race 95 points
    • Qualified 13th drove it up to P5 and it ended up finishing P6 with 98 points. 
    • Qualified eight out of 16 drove it up to P5 ended up spinning and finishing P6. 85 points.

B Open

  • Brad W – P20 (Dover) Started p10 gave up a few spots on start to try and settle in for a longer run and save tires. Accident happened ahead of me, almost had it cleared but got clipped in LF and broke the wheel. 10 minutes of damage was not worth hanging around for. Love the car just not enjoying the racing.

Draft Master

  • John P4. Missed the big early wreck. The top 4 finished with a huge breakaway.

IMSA

  • Brad – P2 (GTD-Suzuka) Started on slicks as the track was moderately wet (50%). Was able to avoid some first lap mayhem and drove to the leader from 12 seconds back, he was on wets and pitted. I thought for sure that I had this one won. Made my stop and he came out about 2.5 seconds behind me and had more pace than I did.

$3000 In Cash Prizes

V2Rtv is hosting a never before done sim racing tournament. We’ve united 10 US based arrive and drive sim centers in 8 different states. Each location is allocating a couple of their available sim rigs for this campaign with a combined 30 sim rigs or 30 finalists. 

Open qualifying starts on August 15th and runs till September 15th. The top number of drivers based on how many entries will be invited back to their locations on September 25th for a heats-based tournament running the Ford Mustang GT3 at Watkins Glen Cup Layout. 

Drivers will be competing for their share of $3,000 (so far) and the winning driver earning $1,500 as the top 5 get paid out. 

With over 40 open arrive and drive sim racing centers in the US and 10 more on the way, we can see the next boom in growth for the industry coming out of these facilities. Uniting many of these locations for special events develops a community like partnership between the sim centers allowing them to create their own ecosystems to drive success. 

I do know a couple of the owners involved have said they would be interested in being on a podcast and doing some media to promote the unity of these centers.

  • Brad – P3 (GTD Road America) Started P2. Led almost all the laps. Lost lead right before pitstops. Jumped the leader during the stop. We were running very similar times and how the faster classes caught us was really changing the gap each lap. Had the lead on the last lap until a GTP who was 6 laps down and 18 laps ahead of the car behind him decided to pass me going into the kink. He loses it and wipes me out. Managed to limp to P3 but super frustrated to lose a race because of a very stupid move that had no gain for him and cost me the race.

  • Ellis-ran three or four hosted races on Friday night and three on Saturday night didnā€™t really track finishes because I was busy live streaming the TikTok. .

Friday Open – Kansas

  • Mike – P wrecked out

Wednesday Fixed – Talladega

  • Justin- P1 Strategy played to my favor again. We had a caution 25 to go. I Just put enough gas in her to finish the scheduled distance which gained me 5 spots to put me on the front row. I recommend an ignition switch. It helped me save a ton of fuel for the G/W/Cā€™s. Luckily I held P1. I never have been so close with fuel. I started sputtering at the tri oval taking the checkered. I gotta say one thing better than the win was I had a listener in the race that introduced himself to me. He said he was a weekly listener shout out to Tom Gulker we went 1 -2.

Wednesday Open – Talladega

  • Mike- P disqualified out with one to go. Let some laps during the race but was involved in many different incidents that were not my doing and basically ran out of incident points. The TikTok stream blew up. I had somewhere between 300 to 500 watchers at any given time 24,000 views, six gifts, 185 followers and 16,000 likes  .
  • Brad W – P31 after starting p10. One of the worst drafting races I can remember being in. Most of the guys raced like monkeys using a hammer for the first time.
  • Tony P19 got stuck being pushed from a damaged car. My split on had 2 cautionstand they were in the first half Of the race 
  • Bobby – P3
  • Greg – P13 – No Caution with a couple to go split the field
  • Chris W – P9. Race was sloppy. I was in 4 wrecks and had 16x. On white flag lap of GWCā€¦. Call me Mosesā€¦ There were several wrecks and the seas parted. Went from 25th to 9th on the last lap! P9!

Thursday Open – Talladega

  • Mike- P20- started in the back this time we had a green flag run and a green flag stop with caution shortly after somehow someway I cycled up the fifth after that and stayed upfront for the part of it but eventually got wrecked out really bad four minutes damage limped it home.

FIA F4 

  • Ellis– 1st race of the week at inner Lagos Brazil qualified seventh ended up spinning on my own three different times and finished P9 out of 18
    • I started sixth and got to fourth and then on the last lap was able to get to third was able to keep the car under me and not overdrive it. Thanks Justin for getting my head on straight P3 with a 96 points

IMSA

  • Hall – P7 at Spa even with a twice intentional wrecker,   at Mosport p6, 7, 7, 
  • Brad – P6 (GTD-Spa) Started p4 and had decent pace. Came out after pitting and was pushing hard to keep p5 behind me only to self spin coming out of Blanchimont.

League / Hosted Races

  • Ellis- pick up cup winner winner chicken dinner.
    • Pick up cup finished p2. 
    • 87 at Talladega wrecked out

I just started listening to the iracers lounge and I love your show. I listen to you to keep up on the world of sim racing. On a couple of shows, you downplayed the Logitech G Pro wheel as something that should be avoided or a ‘hard pass.’ Let me provide a situation where maybe the Logitech Pro shouldn’t be overlooked.

I built a GT7 only rig for use with the PSVR2 on Playstation 5. At the time the only two solutions were Fanatec and Logitech. Fanatec’s future was uncertain, and you suggested staying away from Fanatec because support and software updates were unknown. That left Logitech as the only viable solution for direct drive PS5 support.

For sim racers that are PS5-based, the Logitech G Pro is a pretty good wheel/pedal solution, especially if you are still unsure of Fanatec.

I’m not biased, this is my backup rig, my primary rig is for iRacing and uses a Simucube Pro and Heusinkveld Pro pedals.

Friday Open – Talladega

  • Mike – P10– ran near the front most of the night on the last run we could just barely make it on fuel if we saved, saved like crazy the entire stent and made it to the end was only .1 left of fuel. 
  • Greg – P
  • Kyle- P5 kept it clean for the most part and only ran the bottom until 3 laps to go and the lanes all went to the top and I was able to get a draft with some cars and brought it home P5
  • Tony -P Ran out of gas on gwc 3of3 šŸ˜‘
  • John -P wrecked out on the final green white checker after starting in the top five on the restart
  • Brad – P9 after starting p9. We ran near the front most of the night but were on the wrong fuel strategy. We saved enough but gave up too much track position to those that pitted and ran full speed.

Sunday Open – Talladega

  • Mike- P1 winner winner, chicken dinner a great race I stayed up front. Most of the race was in command, leading the race near the end with a bunch of late cautions had a great help from Aaron Macearchin he stayed with me the whole time pushing me right up to the checker and he got dumped from the guy behind him. Lost my help the outside was coming, but I did beat them to the line just barely.  Thatā€™s my 102nd career win, my first win of the year in this season in this series. So happy to finally close the deal this year. 
  • Chris- P 6. Stayed back the whole race. Missed the late wrecks. Got GWC got out the outside and gained 10 spots to finish P6. 
  • Justin -P wrecked out
  • Greg –P8 started third on the second green white checker and then a caution came out and had to pit for fuel. 
  • Tom – P4

Sunday Fixed – Talladega

  • Mike- P wrecked out on the second green white checker. Led a lot of laps on the final run and had to save fuel. I was at 90% throttle as the leader for the whole run and then we had a late caution and decided to pit for fuel for green white checkers since I didnā€™t have enough for that and couldnā€™t get my Way made back up through there without getting wrecked. Shoulda stayed out 
  • Justin – P5
  • Chris – P 25. Missed a big wreck while I was trying to run up front. Had to pull down to the pits to miss it. Black Flag City ā€œpassing under yellow, entering closed pitā€ served a 26 second penalty and went 2 laps down. Got one back but fell short of the second. P25
  • Kyle P9 started P13 and got collected up in a big one. Had over 9 minutes of damage to fix. Decided to fix it little by little until near the end i was able to fix it all and was able to keep decent speed. After 2 GWC I was sitting P19 and then Mr Pearson jumped in and became my spotter and the man painted a beautiful picture of what was going on in front of me and what lane to use. I went to high lane 3 sometimes 4 wide and avoided wrecks that were happening in front of me and thanks to Justin’s guidance as it all happened he directed me to a P9 finish.

Wednesday Open – Charlotte ROVAL

  • Mike- P there was a big pile up and turned two at the beginning of the race that I had to stop because the track was blocked and I ended up being dead lasted after that then worked my way up to 15 around halfway before I wrecked out around halfway,, ended up, hitting the wall and having about six minutes damage it wasnā€™t even drivable after repairs
  • Brad W – P24 after starting p24. I was in the top split and knew that a top 20 would be about the best I could hope for. Ran clean and worked my way up to p18 until 4 laps to go. Something broke in the right front coming out of the infield section. Car hooked right and plowed the wall killing the motor. Up until that point I had only a 1x from cutting the curb too tight on the front stretch. Very weird.
  • Kyle P – P16 got involved in 3 incidents on lap 1 and 2 and got in a big one due to a stopped car going into nascar turn 1 and got a meatball on lap 5. Fixed the 6 minutes of damage and just drove around until the end bringing home a P16 after having to do a drive through.
  • Greg – P22
  • Chris W – P 21. I hate the Roval with a passion. Crashed out. Glad to be put out of my misery.

Thursday Open – Charlotte ROVAL 

  • Mike- P choked and qualifying card number 34 of top split started dead last. Somebody spun in front of me on the pace slap and I actually hit the wall under pacing we got started. I worked my way up to about 27th with some great moves, and then I spun on my own and fell back again. Later on after Iā€™ve settled in and Iā€™m just clicking off laps. The leader in the one car comes up behind me to lap me going into the final chicane and as we exit the chicane, he decides to run through me and dumps me into the outside wall, destroying the car dnf. This is actually my sixth DNF in a row since Sunday morning.

Official Series

FIA F4 

  • Ellis–3rd attempt at Brazil worked my way up to P5, but then spun on my own fell back to 10th and then racing a guy side-by-side. He went on the grass and came up and took me out fell back  was able to finish 10th.
    • Fourth attempt started fifth worked my way up to second was pressuring the leader which caused him to spin and turn one. I couldnā€™t avoid it and literally drove over the top of him. Add damage didnā€™t pit was only fifth worked my way up to finish P3 94 points.  My second attempt was 95 oh well.
    • First attempt at Watkins Glen boot started 12th stage safe until we got to the bus stop. We were still double wide filing through the bus stop the guy behind me this sailed in there and ran over the top of me had to tow went back out from 20th and worked my way back to finish P 16.
    • Tuesday night, May 3 and fourth attempt and unbelievably wrecked out in both races lap one. Third attempt I went down to turn one they were sitting sideways, blocking the track. Fourth attempt I made it clear to the bus stop before I got ran over from behind.
  • Kyle P3 at the glen in FIA F4 fixed. Ran a solid race and just hit my marks. Car was glued to the track and it was fast, but not fast enough.
  • Kyle P18 ran a good race and got into a 2 lap battle with P5 and on the last lap he took me out entering the bus stop and ended my race. Protest Was FIled.
